Carol Posted September 11, 2004 Posted September 11, 2004 Hi, I have set up a couple of emails in the cpanel, I added autoresponders (they all working and I get them with one of the emails info@****), but I don´t get the mails from the sender in my outlook express (none of them). I only get them in the webmailer. I set (mail.****) (as pop3 and smtp), I used the password from totalchoice...what did I wrong? Thanks, Carol Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted September 11, 2004 Posted September 11, 2004 Welcome to the family Carol! Are you getting any error messages? The username that you are using for your POP3 should be entered as user@****** and then the password you assigned for that account. Quote
youneverknow Posted September 11, 2004 Posted September 11, 2004 Under your accounts make sure that the SMTP =25 and Incoming=110. This works for me youneverknow Quote
Carol Posted September 13, 2004 Author Posted September 13, 2004 Hi Bruce and youneverknow, thanks, but yes, everything is like you said. 25 and 110 and no, no error messages... I am using a cms the maintain my website. Could there be a problem? I still get everything in my webmail but not in express... carol Quote
Carol Posted September 13, 2004 Author Posted September 13, 2004 oh, and by the way,-... I can´t send emails from these accounts with Outlook Express either. Carol Quote
Carol Posted September 13, 2004 Author Posted September 13, 2004 This comes as an error when I try to send emails from outlook (only the hosting mails, others are working) Server: 'mail.****', Protokoll: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure (SSL): No, Socketfehler: 10060, Fehlernummer: 0x800CCC0E sorry, it´s in german Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 (edited) To send email try changing the port to 26 for SMTP. And you might want to check out this help page. Edited September 13, 2004 by TCH-Bruce Quote
Carol Posted September 13, 2004 Author Posted September 13, 2004 Ha, we come closer.... port 26 was not working... BUT: I thing it is a problem with the Account name in the server window in Outlook E. i.e. in my case it was already in (but only the first word, not a full email name i.e. name but not name@**** What should I type in name (the origin name I got from totalchoice) or the full name with @****??? Quote
Carol Posted September 13, 2004 Author Posted September 13, 2004 I guess, it must have to do somethings with the name and passwort I got from totalchoice. I set up some emails and gave them different passwords...? could this be the reason?????? Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 Have you created an email account in cPanel for yourself? That would be the first step. You really don't want to use your cPanel (account) for email. Then you would in OE set the name to youremail@yourdomain.ext and enter the password you create for the account. Quote
Carol Posted September 13, 2004 Author Posted September 13, 2004 hi Bruce, I can receive emails now but I can´t send some... port 26 is not working... other suggestions ;-) Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 Have you set up your outgoing email to use authentication? In Outlook Express on the servers tab check the box "My server requires authentication". Then press the settings button. Select the "Log on using" radio button and enter your email address and password for this account. If you are still unable to send you may have you change your outgoing mail server to your ISP's mail server. Some ISP's block ports 25 and 26. Quote
TCH-Rick Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 If you are continuing to have a problem you should send in a Help Desk ticket using the link at the top of this page. I checked and found that port 26 was not enabled on a server. Please try it again using port 26 in Outlook and see if it works now. Quote
Carol Posted September 13, 2004 Author Posted September 13, 2004 But I don´t have problems with my other email accounts on O-express? And there are a few. Quote
Carol Posted September 13, 2004 Author Posted September 13, 2004 ok Rick, I´ll do that. I just tried port 26... not working. Thanks. Carol Quote
