I just started with TCH, pretty new at this. Can go to cpanel without problems. When I try to upload with Cute FTP Pro, nothing happens, then says "Control Connection Closed". I noticed in the instructions that I should set the default directory to public_html, but that directory doesn't exist on my site. Do I have to create it?

Also, I have Zone Alarm Pro. Putting the site in the "trusted" zone made no difference. I have a Linksys router firewall, but FTP to other places is unaffected.

Not sure where to look next. Any suggestions?

John -

'public_html' is a directory that resides on the TCH server side. If you open your cPanel and go to File Manager, you'll find it listed there. That's where you'll FTP your files into, it's not a directory you need to create.

I don't use Cute FTP so I can't offer much more help than that, but hope this much info helps a bit.

If you dont find it in cpanel as Ninepatch say, submit a ticket to the techs (link on top of page), cause if there is no public_html from the beginning, something is very wrong.

Thanks! Got it working. Apparently the directions for Cute FTP weren't correct (or I was too tired and didn't actually read them). Once I set the FTP site to use FTP, not HTML, it worked fine.

Another TCH customer referred me to your site when I was thinking about starting my own web site. I was very pleased with what I saw. The price and service are stellar so far!
