chanth Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 So I logged into a yahoo account I haven't touched for a while and found two emails from TCH. Whoops (I know, my bad...but the email address was originally set up as a spam trap, and it has now fullfilled that goal admirably. Something like 3000 emails in the bulk mail folder and 90 emails in the inbox; the only 'real' ones being from TCH. As a side note, I really need to change my email address listed with TCH. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Bill paying was switched ages ago, but I could never find a utility on the site for TCH itself. End parenthesis.) This is regarding the nameserver switch. I suppose I'm an old customer of TCH, because my nameservers are still: NS5.*****.COM NS6.******.COM Which means that for all intents and purposes everything should have gone down (and thus given me a heart attack ) on August 12th. But it's all still up. I'm at the point now where I'm not sure if I'm in the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" boat. Should I still change them over to the TCH nameservers? Any help would be much appreciated. Hope everyone's having a good holiday! Talia Quote
Head Guru Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 Yep you really need to change them. We gave up control of the domain name in question, so why the DNS servers are still resolving is beyond me. You should go change your DNS as soon as possible. NS1.TOTALCHOICEHOSTING.COM NS2.TOTALCHOICEHOSTING.COM Thanks Bill Quote
chanth Posted September 6, 2004 Author Posted September 6, 2004 Thanks, Bill! I've made the change. Quote
youneverknow Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 To change contact info...go to your control panel and you will see just below the top banner "Please update your contact information here." and below that your welcome to server xx Click the "here" link. youneverknow Quote
TCH-Don Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 The contact address in my cpanel is one of the very few place I use my ISP e-mail address, and I have never received Spam there. This address needs to be one that you check regularly. Quote
chanth Posted September 7, 2004 Author Posted September 7, 2004 The email address on my cPanel contact screen is not the spamified (yum) yahoo account, but an actual, viable email address (admittedly not the best choice as it is a domain email and wouldn't work if the site went down, but...) and I've never received a TCh email there ^^;;. I feel like I've broken the system *laughs*. However, apparently I was hallucinating when I said that I'd changed the billing email address, because that was still set to the spam account when I checked on it this morning. Does TCH pull account info from SecureServer.net at all? A very appreciative!, Talia PS: I would love to use my ISP email address, but it was spam-hit from the day I received my username from my ISP, and has accrued quite an impressive array of hits since then. Opening it is like opening that mystery tupperware that's been lying in the back of your fridge since you moved into your apartment...not only has it colonized, but you know that whatever's inside, it isn't pretty . LisaJill Posted September 7, 2004 Posted September 7, 2004 I was so enjoying my popcorn until I read the last line of that post. *sighs* You could set up a new email for the domain... =) Quote
