rnmcd Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 can someone please hurry and answer this before the moderator deletes it again. I'm not trying to defraud TCH, I only want to know if I need to d/l the latest version of phpBB from the phpBB site or if I can save the time and use the one available from TCh. I'll give this thread about 3 minutes............before it vanishes...poof Quote
rnmcd Posted August 20, 2004 Author Posted August 20, 2004 oh come on someone....they are just about to delete this post again and I'm running out of email addresses to sign up with. argggggghhhhhhhhhhh Quote
GroovyFish Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 Umm...no offense but what the heck are you talking about? The other topic you were talking about PhpBB on is here: http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/i...showtopic=12102 Quote
LisaJill Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 Posts are very rarely deleted and there'd be no reason to delete this one - they do sometimes get moved for organization, but ilke groovyfish said, your post is there, along with the answer. Quote
MikeJ Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 The current version of phpBB available via cPanel is 2.0.8a. But as Bruce mentioned in the other thread you asked the same question in, you can also install the latest phpBB manually if you desired. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 The other thread is right here and as Mike said, I answered your question. Scroll to the bottom of the thread to see it. Quote

GroovyFish Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 Are you searching All Forums or just Pre-Sales because your original post is in "Looking For..." forum, not Pre-Sales. If you enter your name and select All Forums in the search where box, it's there. Quote

But as Bruce mentioned in the other thread you asked the same question in, you can also install the latest phpBB manually if you desired. I have definitely given that some consideration but I have heard that using Fantastico (isn't that included with cPanel?) to install the boards that TCH offers makes life much easier. Btw, I haven't been able to 'test drive' the cPanel demo available in your Web Hosting Home section. So I may be mistaken about Fantastico. Thanks. Quote
LisaJill Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 No, we don't use Fantastico. But we do have the one-click install without it so that's fine. The cpanel demo is run by cpanel so we can't control if it's up or not. =) Quote
