danceswithscissors Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 How would one go about switching from individual domain plans to one reseller plan? Is there a form process somewhere, or do you contact TCH and have them make the change for you? Quote
Head Guru Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 Hi, If you drop in a Help Desk ticket ( link at top of page) our support staff will hold your hand thru and walk you thru the entire process. Bill Quote
TCH-Don Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 You will need to open a help ticket to tech support let them know what domain will be the reseller account I purchased a new one for the reseller account and the later had the techs move my other account inside my reseller. Quote
danceswithscissors Posted August 17, 2004 Author Posted August 17, 2004 So I pick one of my domains to be the *main* domain for the account, and the other 3 are just kinda parked inside that main account? And I can add a 5th domain at a later date? I'm putting together a plan for having 6 domains total, but it would be nice to have them all wrapped up into one account. Quote
TCH-Don Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 (edited) Your other domains are seperate from your main or reseller domain they are managed in the Web Host Manager (WHM) Your reseller welcome e-mail will tell you how to login to WHM where you can create packages with a specified amount of space and bandwidth then you can create a new account for new domains, selecting the appropriate package for the new account. Have you looked at the videos on the help site for resellers? they will help to understand what you can do. In Whm you can view the accounts space usage and bandwidth and log into the cpanels for each account with a button click. and do NOT create a new account for existing domains, let the techs move them into your WHM or reseller space, then you can modify them if you like. And if you need help we are always here. Edited August 17, 2004 by TCH-Don Quote
TCH-Don Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 You are welcome and if you have questions about the videos just let us know. Quote
danceswithscissors Posted August 18, 2004 Author Posted August 18, 2004 Don, I had no trouble at all with the videos, they ran just fine. I have no idea what they were talking about, but they are superb examples of quality videos. woooot This stuff is so far over my head I'm surprised it doesn't have to be registered with the FAA. So I registered a new domain, set it up with it's own hosting plan, and patted myself on the back for accomplishing that much. Thank you for all the help though, I really do appreciate it. Special thanks to Michelle (TCH Help Desk) for helping, holding my hand, and getting me through it all! Quote
TCH-Don Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 Jana, glad you are happy and remember do NOT create a new account for existing domains, let the techs move them into your WHM or reseller space, then you can modify them if you like. Quote
danceswithscissors Posted August 18, 2004 Author Posted August 18, 2004 I decided against the Reseller Plan, I'll just keep all my domains with individual hosting plans. If I had to keep track of any more usernames, usernumbers, or passwords, I'd lose what little sanity I have left. Quote
TCH-Don Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 Thats one of the advantages of WHM, it will let see all from one place and let you open an accounts cpanel from there with your master login. Quote
