Spike71 Posted July 30, 2004 Posted July 30, 2004 Hello all, I recently joined TCH and am loving it here. My quesion is this: I have a domain name parked at go daddy. Do i just need to forward the domain name to the ip address you provided me? and update the name servers? Or is the ip forwarding enough? Thanks you guys!! Mike Quote
btrfld Posted July 30, 2004 Posted July 30, 2004 I think the IP forwarding is not necessary. All you should have to do is modify the DNS entries. One of the Gurus will correct me if I'm wrong, I'm sure. Welcome to the Family Jim Quote
TCH-Rick Posted July 30, 2004 Posted July 30, 2004 Jim is right. You should not forward using the IP but should set the nameservers to ns1.totalchoicehosting.com and ns2.totalchoicehosting.com so that our nameservers are used to point the domain. Quote
Spike71 Posted July 30, 2004 Author Posted July 30, 2004 okay great... was hosting it at my server at home.. so that is why i had ip forwarding. will make the changes now. Thanks for the help Rock Sign Mike Quote
TCH-Don Posted August 8, 2004 Posted August 8, 2004 Mike if you are pointing your nameservers to ns1.totalchoicehosting.com and ns2.totalchoicehosting.com you will not have to do anything. You should be able to check by logging into the admin area where you registered your domain or by checking www.whois.sc/yourdomain edit I just saw your whois Domain servers in listed order: NS1.TOTALCHOICEHOSTING.COM NS2.TOTALCHOICEHOSTING.COM you are ok.
