since I'm debating between TCH and another company which provide almost identical features for almost identical prices.

1) Can I have a .com and a .net domain point to the same points i.e.

subdomain.****/ooogabooga/

subdomain.mydomain.net/ooogabooga/

point to the same place? not just the initial index of www.****/

2) If I was running a cron job or a php file (not sure if I'm just gonna be lazy about it), that took up probably more than an equal share of CPU/RAM once a day at Midnight PST would that be acceptable or not? (Not even sure I'm going to end up doing this but worth asking while I'm asking the other question)

3) How many user/domain accounts are usually on a shared server for the $5 and/or $8.95 plans so I have an idea what amount of cpu/ram on a server would be roughly 'my fair share'?

K...on #3 I think it is proprietary information...however if you go to here; http://www.tchstatus.com/web-hosting-servers.html

and check out some of the servers you can see for yourself that the loads on most of the servers is EXTREMELY low. That information is probably not given to you with the other host you are considering...tell me if I'm wrong....but...

youneverknow

PS: are the "others" using Xeon Quad processors?

Processors 2

Model Intel® Pentium® III CPU family 1266MHz

Chip MHz 1262.30 MHz

Cache Size 512 KB

System Bogomips 5039.71

PCI Devices

Davicom Semiconductor, Inc. Ethernet 100/10 MBit

nVidia Corporation NV5M64 [RIVA TNT2 Model 64/Model 64 Pro]

IDE Devices hda: WDC WD800BB-00CAA1 (Capacity: 74.53 GB)

hdb: WDC WD800BB-00CAA1 (Capacity: 74.53 GB)

SCSI Devices none

is the server specifics for Server #4

and the other one I'm looking at has:

Same # of Processors

Same Type of Processor but a 1000MHz

Same Cache Size

No clue for Bogomips (not even sure what they are =0)

Same Class of Ethernet Card 100/10 MBit

Similar Video Card (not that it matters to a remote user eh?)

2 60 GB HD (doesn't specific brand, RPM or Seek Speed but neither does TCH)

so as I said they are very similar the only difference is here charges $5.00 and gives about 50 (it's 450mb right?) vs their 400mb. And a couple features I have no use for.

I asked their support the same questions but they close at 5pm EST except for emergencies so I'll have an answer to those tommorow, but I'll be gone tommorow at 6am to go visit family so we will see which answers I like better when I get back eh?

All parked domains must point to the initial index of www.****

If your cron or whatever you run starts to interfere with the other sites on your server and causes issues with them you will be required to discontinue that process.

We undersell our servers, I can not give you the exact numbers however they are well below normal hosting companies amounts.

I figured that, but without some information i.e. %s, # of users, or an actual amount...

How can I predict if it will? Shutting down a significant fraction of the site (basically a web-based game) because I can't do what I thought I could doesn't seem to make sense if I've paid for a year now does it heh.

Thats the purpose of the last couple questions =(

Well they do have a 30 day money back guarentee. So you will just have to try it out within the 30 days to see. But I will say if it does not bring the server down to a crawl for the rest of the users, and if the server does not have a high load then I am sure they would not mind it using a little more then it's share. Because when I have done an import or an upgrade to my message board it did take a fair amount of processing usage but it never kept other sites from working, and was always done late at night when my server's loads are close to 0 and tch has never said anything to me about doing that.
