n2access Posted June 23, 2004 Posted June 23, 2004 I'm a reseller and would like to offer virus filtering as part of the email service. Is there a process or an option available for this? Thanks, A Loyal Customer Jerry Presley Quote
TCH-Rob Posted June 23, 2004 Posted June 23, 2004 I do not believe so. This would most likely have to be installed at the server level and not an account level. I do believe we filter some extensions like .scr and the like but I am not sure of a way to implement that on the system. Quote
borfast Posted June 23, 2004 Posted June 23, 2004 Yes, Rob is right, Jerry. That kind of service would have to be installed at server level, so you'd require a dedicated server for that. Quote
n2access Posted June 24, 2004 Author Posted June 24, 2004 What are the chances of TCH offering an upgrade service that has virus scanning on a shared server? I would like to to share the costs with other TCH clients wanting to offer virus scanning of email. Is there interest from other TCH customers to join me? If so, add a reply. webmedic Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 I would not mind so much but it really depends on how it is implimented. I build these kind of email server for clients all the time and if it is not done right the cpu usage will bring the server to it's knees. It's gets worse the higher the load. Quote
