ramone_kalsaw Posted June 14, 2004 Posted June 14, 2004 Hello, Can you tell me how I can make sure that only specific messages that I select in Squirrel Mail download to Outlook when I use Outlook's "Send/Receive" function. I sort my mail on line and only want to download specific messages to store in my Outlook folders. Thanks. Quote
TCH-Rick Posted June 14, 2004 Posted June 14, 2004 The only way I can think of to do what you want is check the mail using SquirrelMail and deleting any messages you don't want at all, moving other messages to folders if you don't want to download them in Outlook, and then leave the messages you want in Outlook in the inbox. These would be retrieved when you check the mail in Outlook. Quote
ramone_kalsaw Posted June 14, 2004 Author Posted June 14, 2004 Thanks Rick. A good approach. I'll use it. Quote
borfast Posted June 14, 2004 Posted June 14, 2004 Another way that comes to my mind would be to use IMAP instead of POP. That way the messages are kept on the server and you only download the ones you want. I don't use IMAP (tried it once), so I'm not absolutely sure this would be the best method to do it. Quote
stevevan Posted June 14, 2004 Posted June 14, 2004 A possible (slight?) issue with IMAP would be the disk space used up by keeping mail on the server (depending upon how much mail is received). Of course the way around that would be to periodically check/remove mail using squirellmail. I've used IMAP before and like Raul, personal preference said I didn't like it too much. Quote
