Ok It seems Email related questions are not really important to you...

But emails for some persons as me are as important as the web site.. no downtime, etc... and as the website, it's important (to me at least) to monitor their bandwidth, to make sure nobody could do bad stuff and create problem to me!

I mean If one of my email user send too many emails which could result in "spam" i'd rather noticed it myself and stop his account than having my account stopped by you, resulting in SEVERE problem for me.

So, is there a way to monitor (and "in dreaming" to restrict) the bandwidth and the activity of email account? (basically the same amount of info which are available in awstat for email, it's not much but already that..)

If you do not offer this, is it possible to add a third party tool which could do that?

Thanks in advance for the numerous response ;)

I'm sorry that you haven't gotten an answer, Ludo. I am not aware of any way to do this. I had a look through WHM and I see ways to view and limit bandwidth across http, ftp and pop combined - but no way to do either specifically for pop.

Just because no one responded does not mean that email issues aren't important to us. I spend a good bit of time through the Help Desk digging through mail logs and working on email issues. Email can be a complicated process.

One of the great things about cPanel is you can create your own email accounts. With that ability comes trade-offs. The way the email is set up it would be difficult to monitor a specific email account as the server sees it as a part of the domain's email.

The lack of response to the topic likely means that no one is aware of a script or way to do what you are asking.

While not directly related, I would encourage everyone to at least monitor the disk usage of email accounts regularly. I see hundreds of messages in various mail queues on the servers that cannot be delivered because the inbox for the acocunt is full. CPanel does provide an easy way of seeing the disk usage in the Manage Accounts section of Email.

You cannot monitor per email account, but you can see your monthly totals per domain.

In cPanel you select Bandwidth under Stats, it will show you a chart and a breakdown by month. Select your domain for the month you wish to view and you can see All Traffic, HTTP Traffic, SMTP Traffic, FTP Traffic, and Pop3 Traffic by the montly or daily total.
