Are you using Frontpage? If you are not using Frontpage, you can disable these extensions through cpanel as the message says and it should work. If you do use Frontpage, I will have to let someone else answer how to password protect through Frontpage and cpanel.

You will need to submit a ticket with the help desk and 1) ask them to check if the account have been comprimised. Link on top of page and in my signature. 2) ask them if they have backups to replace the hacked files with (unless you have backups, which is your responsibility to have). 3) then change passwords (cpanel,database,emails), and make sure every script etc you use are of the most recent and secure version.

It could be. I would open a ticket with the help desk and check with them on the policy with multiple forwarders.
