Was I dreaming or did I see mention of a site builder being added to all the other cool goodies we have with TCH? I'd really like to redo my site but just can't bring myself to wrestle with FrontPage again. If it was only a dream about the site builder, can someone recommend one? Free would be good! LOL

Just wondered if there was a way to allow someone limited access to Cpanel, specifically Awstats?

Just wondered if the XP version members are using would have an effect. A newbie just posted with the same "red X" problem. The '98 user is getting a new 'puter! YA!

This particular member said she's checked her pop up blocker and it's okay. I'm not sure she's agreeable to using a new browser but I'll suggest it. But why would everyone else using IE (like me) not have problems? I had a few other members saying that they couldn't stay logged in and after some research, found out that I could turn off the "stronghold auto-log for cookies". I did that and it apparently helped those members. I don't suppose it would be the fix for the other problem...that would be way too easy! Another issue has come up which I think is explained by the ancient '98 OS that this member is using so I doubt there is a fix other than a new 'puter! She can see the board and all of the forums, emoticons, avatars and buttons. She can reply using "fastreply" but when she goes to "addreply" she gets the dreaded: Windows has encountered a problem and will shut down. Any ideas on that one? Thanks!

I recently upgraded my IPB board from 2.1.7 to 2.2.1 and things have gone smoothly with the exception of one member. Here is a quote from a post she made: She's checked settings on her computer and has tried to right click> show picture with no success. She seems to be the only one having problems and only on my forum and only since we upgraded. I think the photos and sigs that she is seeing are linked from photobucket. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

ARRGGHHH! I upgraded to 2.2.1 and now the link to the forum from the home page (www.boxersrule.com) won't work. The URL was www.boxersrule.com/forums and used to go to the forum. Now it goes to: 403: Invision Power Board -> Forbidden Several members have contacted me saying they can't get to the board via bookmarks. I didn't have any trouble (thank heavens) and gave them the link I was using which is http://www.boxersrule.com/forums/index.php?act=idx Do I need to change the links on the other pages or is there something I can do to fix it in ACP panel? I've checked Tools/Settings> Gen Config and don't see anything there that looks wrong... I don't see the board's URL at all there. I'm afraid other members can't find the board now. Any ideas?

Once again, TCH provided help and sevices that were not part of the deal! From backing up my domain to holding my hand as I deleted the file after the upgrade was done. I imagine when the tech crew sees my name on the ticket they draw straws to see who loses and has to deal with me. ROFL! When I was looking for a host, I was looking at several but once I found TCH and this great support forum, my decision was made and for once, I made the right decision! Thanks again, TCH, for providing the incredible service you do and your commitment to your clients.

THANK YOU!! I just submitted a ticket asking about the possiblity of retreiving files from the backup files that TCH does but will submit another ticket. I'm SO glad I chose TCH as a host!

I'm going to have IPB upgrade my 2.1.7 forum to 2.2.1 and I need to backup the database and important files. Even worse than not having a CLUE as to how to go about doing that, I have a freaking SLOW dialup connection so even if I did figure out how to backup anything, it would take days to download large files to my home 'puter. Once I figure out what files I need to backup, would it be possible to make duplicate files and store them on my server space via FTP and not download to my computer? If i can't do it that way, I guess I'll just close my eyes & hold my breath and hope the files aren't lost.

Now that everyone knows how "challenged" I am, is there any possiblity that I can figure out how to add email accounts? ROFL!! I *may* have it figured out so let me run it by you guys.... 1. I've got to create an account for a new email: new.email@mysite.com and assign a password. 2. The person who has the account needs to configure their Outlook Express to receive emails (with Don's help, not mine! ) That seems way to simple........

Well you lost me there! Does that mean I should be able to get and send myname@mysite.com emails from my Outlook Express via my ISP? The only thing I'm close to popping right now is my monitor. How does one do that? In Outlook Express, I have the "My Server Requires Authentication" checked and under Settings, I have Logon Using: my_cPanel name and my cPanel password. Is that wrong?

I'm not using the cPanel account name for my email but it's there. Should I delete it? I did create a myname@mysite.com email which seems to work except I can't receive emails through my Outlook Express via my ISP. I can send though. I can send emails to me from other email accounts at the myname@mysite.com but they don't come through to my Outlook. I can see them in SquirrelMail.

You aren't the only one! I can't even get mine working. I have LOTS of questions about how to set up additional accounts... like how to fix it so the user can get emails via their Outlook.... or can they? But that is probably best saved for another post! I *think* I did that. I followed the slide show thingy. I just checked the link you gave me and checked everything again. I think that part is working since I haven't gotten any spam in my account. I accessed my account through SquirrelMail and found the emails. I have 2 accounts.. the "main" one: myassignedTCHusername@mysite.com and the one I created for myself: admin.me@mysite.com I can send and receive from SquirrelMail and can send via my Outlook Express but can't receive through it.

I was just SO proud of myself when I thought I had figured out my email. I know it did work because I posted way back on Aug. 8th and I had sent and received an email. I wondered why I hadn't been getting any emails but just figured that no one knew it so how could I get emails anyway?? Since I need to create some new email accounts (yeah, sure ), I got to investigating a bit more and discovered that I had 28 emails (some PMs from the board and bunches of test emails) that never were delivered via my ISP to mysite's account. I can send but apparently I can't receive emails on my Outlook Express. The outgoing mail server is 26 and the incoming is 110. If I remember correctly, at the same time I *thought* I had fixed the email account, I created the "fail@mysite.com" default email for spam. All of the 28 emails I finally found, were legit so at least the spam part is working! Can anyone help figure out what I've done or not done? Thanks!

Thanks guys! I've banned 4 email addresses through the IPB Admin CP and haven't had a spammer for several days now!

It seems my board has been discovered by spammers. I try to check validating members at least twice per day and delete the ones that look like spammers but sometimes the little sneaks get through. Some are very persistant and rejoin even after being deleted. You'd think they'd get the hint! I've noticed an "IP Deny Manager" in CPanel and wondered if I can use it to block some of these jerks. The lastest awaiting execution is vcemprevet IP: 66.98.212.79 mail1@medicinese.info How would I use IP Deny Manager to put an end to vcemprevet? He/she keeps joining and I keep deleting. Thanks!
