  1. Every once in awhile, my Wordpress install will return to the default theme on its own. It was about once per week, but is now daily. I can only figure that either something automatic or someone is doing it. I changed my password, and it is still happening. I deleted the default theme, and now it changes to nothing whenever this happens. Any ideas?
  2. I bet the Sub2 4.0 that I just upgraded to is for 2.3, and if I downgrade to the version I was using, it will work. EDIT: I was correct. If I would have paid attention, it plainly says this on the Sub2 page. I am so sorry for bugging you guys with this waste of time.
  3. I updated "Comment License", and "Subscribe2" a day or two ago. I could swear that I had been to the dashboard between then and now and not had this issue though. I am definitely capable of being wrong, however. I guess maybe I should start deactivating them perhaps? EDIT: I deactivated Subscribe2, and the error disappeared. Dammit, I like that one a LOT.
  4. This morning I logged into my blog (WP 2.2) to post from class (still in there), and received the following error under "Latest Activity": Warning: main() [function.main]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(../wp-config.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/*/:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/usr/local/sqmail/:/tmp) in /home/*/public_html/blog/wp-admin/install-helper.php on line 2 Warning: main(../wp-config.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: Operation not permitted in /home/*/public_html/blog/wp-admin/install-helper.php on line 2 Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required '../wp-config.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/*/public_html/blog/wp-admin/install-helper.php on line 2 I'm completely lost with these errors. I'm guessing permissions, but you guys are wiser than I am about such things. I did replace my UN with * in the path for this posting. I'll keep researching, but help is always appreciated.
  5. Well, I'm a tard. I saw that but didn't read far enough down. Thanks for the direction. I wish I could get it back, but I understand it's not TCH. If anyone comes up with a workaround or sees one, let me know.
  6. Okay, I used to be able to log in to Cpanel and then go in and see all my email in each account by expanding the tree in Horde. I just went to go do that, and now I can't see how/where to do it. Did I change a setting? Did something get upgraded? Thanks guys, I'll keep looking, but I await your suggestions.
  7. Thanks guys. I've made the "invisible" forums for now. I'll get a couple of guys using them and see how it goes. In the meantime I'll read up on the links you provided, Bruce. Thank you both for your help and if you or anyone else finds something of interest, please let me know!
  8. Don't you just love when free stuff goes paid? I'll chill for a minute and wait for some SMF'ers to come out and play. Perhaps I'll have a smoke.
  9. Any thoughts on SMF? I'd like to stick to things that are (hopefully) supported around here. Is it possible to install IPB on a shared server?
  10. I am about to setup a new domain for a local organization and need to setup a forum that will have a "commons area", and 3-7 locked sub-forums. Does anyone have a suggestion on which one is easiest to use/customize? I'm decent at following directions, but this is my first real foray into setting up a certain scheme. It is VERY important that these subs be locked. Thanks for reading guys!
  11. I'm VERY loosely planning so that we can just do whatever, but I have to say you are the most comprehensive guide so far. Damn natives. I'm planning to stay at the Mirage. I was looking at the Bellagio, just to say I stayed there, but I think I can find a better use for the two hundred bucks. Plus, the reviews I read said it isn't worth the money. I figure night one will mostly be spent in the room and at the Mirage SPAMMER-BEWARE doing some low-rent gambling. Day two will likely involve walking up and down the Strip getting burnt. I don't know about that night, but clubs are out of the question. Not big into the party scene. (Personally, I'd like to check out WSOP, but she wouldn't.) We like to be able to check out stuff and just wander. Maybe "people watch", whatever. So, Saturday and Sunday morning are open, and I don't know what to semi-plan. I was thinking the Hoover tour since we love the Vacation movies and it had the hilarious bit with Cousin Eddie (yeah, we're dorks). I guess you could say we want a lazy weekend just to "be". I may pop for getting the Mrs. a spa treatment since this is for her anyway. Realistically, I'm stumped. I don't want to buy tickets ahead of time and then we decide to skip a show. I don't want to sit in the room bored either. That's primarily why I'm polling everyone - for a well rounded list of suggestions. JackColton.com was helpful, but it is more geared for the club scene. Please do keep the help coming. I've only got a month to make up for 8 years of not doing this sooner, and it has to be crammed into 4 days. You are all helping me immensely.
  12. I'm figuring up and down the strip the first day, and then some "hotel" sitting that night. That will get us acclimated. Then a Dam tour or whatever the next day and a half. Mostly it is so my wife and I can be adults and do whatever we want. I appreciate every suggestion you guys want to offer. After all, I'm a virgin gamer.
  13. I'm from the midwest as well. Over in the yummy Illinois. I am shocked at some of the costs as well as how much there is to do. The Mrs. and I will be going without the kids. We're going to stay on the strip, and perhaps tour Hoover or the Canyon. I keep forgetting the Grand Canyon is so close. Since we're going when it's so hot, we'll probably just relax in the casinos and take a walk up and down the strip. I don't want to plan much since the point is to relax.
  14. Thomas, you missed the WP 2.2 release and now this? You're slipping man. Oh, and it was hotel/g@mbl!ng. Stupid over-active filters.
  15. Ladies and germs, I am planning on taking my wife on a surprise trip to Las Vegas at/around the end of June. Never been, never flown, and looking for advice about either. Mostly I don't want to get arrested at the airport or make a major gaffe at the hotel/SPAMMER-BEWARE.
  16. *tear* I love you guys. Simple solutions, fast help, friendly faces (except Bruce ) We need to have a TCH party so I can buy you guys a pop, or something.
  17. So, try re-uploading wp-includes you think? I've got a complete backup of the /blog, so I'm not scared about screwing up too much.
  18. Yeah, I deleted everything like the instructions said, and kept wp-config, index.php, etc. like WP said to do. I mean, this isn't an emergency since it is working fine, I just miss my Dashboard page. I could live without it, but would rather have it working properly. Perhaps I should have overwritten something and I didn't. I'll keep trudging along and googling until something comes up. If you hear something, let me know.
  19. Time for my latest error issue. I jumped right in and upgraded to 2.2 (I know, with great new software comes great new bugs). I followed the upgrade instructions, backed up, and kept the files like the instructions said. So far, all plugins seem to be working and all functionality is there. I do have 2 issues (probably related): The main body section under "Dashboard" is blank. There aren't the usual links to "Write a post", etc. The functionality is there if I go to "Write", but the body is missing. Also, after "Incoming Links" and "Comments" in the box to the right, I get this error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function: get_private_posts_cap_sql() in /home/*******/public_html/blog/wp-admin/index.php on line 64 If you guys can point me in the right direction, I'm more than willing to listen. Google and WP-forums aren't helpful yet, and you guys usually are helpful. I'll keep looking, but I'm betting y'all will get me before I find it myself.
  20. MT, . Just teasing. Good find on the release.
  21. Just did the upgrade, my dashboard is fouled at the moment.
  22. Hey, you guys have it down pat, and I'm more than happy to let you know that. I haven't come across an issue yet that wasn't resolved or at least replied to within a couple of hours, and every issue has been resolved quickly (the few I've had). Generally, when I have an issue, it's my own lack of knowledge rather than a TCH matter. Thankfully, everyone in the forums is more than willing to help. I was referred by a friend, and I tell everyone I can to come on down. It's like a Sunday afternoon picnic with fried chicken. Everybody just helps each other and laughs. (Can you tell I'm southern?)
  23. PodPress uploaded. Thanks again for your help, Bruce!
  24. That is exactly what I am looking for, o master of wordpress. Unfortunately, the wonderful proxy denies access to that as well. Perhaps I will have to wait 2 hours for lunch and then d/l and install from here after.
  25. Rather than start a new thread, I'll see if I can get an answer by reviving this one. Can anyone give me a direct download link to PodPress? I plan to start podcasting soon, and I've read it adds to the ease of setup. Unfortunately, the site to d/l it from is blocked by the work filter. Most anything else is allowed (including FTP), but not access to that site.
