  1. Yeah, basically I set up MT on the new domain, copied all the files from the old one over the new except writing over the cfg. and the db-password.cgi one. Then I exported the files from the old one and imported the text doc into the new one and it all worked. I then just pasted in my templates and Voila! I was done with it. Mav
  2. Okay, more questions, Is there a way to transfer an entire MT blogs settings over to another domain name. Basically I have the MT blog setup on the other domain but I want all the settings and blog, comments and everything on the other domain just as it was on the old domain. I see where I can export from my MT blog but I don't really see how you import all the blog entries into the new one. I see the import page but I don't really think it makes much sense. What would be nice is if I could just transfer the MYsql database from the old site to the new one and rename to the current one. Then it would all be good to go, as I've copied all the files over from the old one in the MT folder and that went okay, it's just missing the database info. So, if anyone has any ideas or suggestions please let me know. Thanks, Mav
  3. Hmm, I figured it was some sort of Cache storage going on, Didn't know that's how the DNS ICANN did it's work. But I guess that makes sense as to why they post the 24 to 72 hour statement. It is probably the length of time it takes to refresh its cache storage again, which would contain the new DNS information for the site. Mav
  4. I use godaddy to redirect my site to TCH on Thurs, Okay that will only take 24 to 72 hours. I'm impatient, but then aren't we all. So I type in the site to see if it has switched yet and of course I'm sure it will take the full 72 hour time frame to occur. But, the strange part is on my 4th computer I type in the address to my domain as http://**** and it comes up as the page on TCH, but I type it in as ***** and it comes up on the old hosting server I'm switching from. All my other computers show only the old site no matter the combination typed in. Stranger yet, I log in to my MT blog on TCH since It apparently works on my computer 4 and start configuring all the settings, yet when I go to save them it errors a 404 on me, yet the changes have taken affect when I go back. I press view site and it takes me to my old site on the old hosting service. Yet I open a new browser window, and type in the http://**** and there is the one on TCH. Weird stuff I must say, I do not understand how that is possible. Any one else experience such a occurence? Mav
  5. Sweetness, man that was quick! Rock Sign Rock Sign Thanks TCH Team, Mav
  6. Yeah, I tried the script, it worked good until it reported every error. Apparently Gallery photo script causes some sort of temporary error which makes the script email me everytime someone accesses the photo pages. Boy was my email full that day! Adding the line to the .htaccess worked great, but I need to look over the script and see what was going on with the false reports with Gallery Photo album script. Thanks for all the help, once again Rock Sign Mav
  7. Negative Ghost Rider, there is no PHPNuke on server 26. I have it on my other account which is on server 23, but this one is a no go. Apparently not installed on Server 26 at the moment. I'm hoping that the TCH Team will have it onboard very soon. Mav Rock Sign
  8. Yeah, I've played with so many scripts and stuff between many webhosts I can't remember anymore what was and what wasn't one all of them. But I do know PHPNuke is on the servers here for sure, well, at least it used to be a little while ago. Server 26 doesn't appear to have at first glance though. Mav Kick Me
  9. Okay, I thought that MT was installed in the Cpanel when I originally joined TCH. I could be wrong of course but I definitely swear it was a one click install in the cpanel. Also, I don't see PHPNuke on the cpanel for server 26 either, and I definitely know that bad boy was a cpanel one click install previously. So any one got the down low on this info? Mav \_-Because Inquiring minds want to know-_/ Rock Sign
  10. Yep, it looks that way for me also. (Fingers Crossed) Hopefully it will happen in the wee hours of the night when I'm up, so I can challenge any coding or scripting that decides it needs a good wrassle'n in order to work properly. Ugh, the torture while waiting for the site to switch is killing me. Head Bash
  11. Okay, I'm waiting for my domain name to transfer but before that is going to happen I'm trying to upload all my files and make sure everything works on the server before the switch happens. I want my website move to be totally unnoticed. Here is the problem, it seems I cannot just use the IP to my site to make sure it works as the name of the site is 123.12.12.12/~somethinghere/nothing. So when I try to run a script or setup my stuff if tries to automatically go to the 123.12.12.12/somethinghere/nothing which doesn't work since it does not have that little tild thingy in front. On my other webhosts I was provided a working IP number to my domain location so that I could make sure things worked before I transfered my stuff over, but it doesn't seem to be the case with TCH. Please correct me if I'm wrong and let me know how I can do this. I want to make sure my blog, nuke, and forums and other scripts are working before I point my domain over to the servers here. I don't want to be trying to make fixes on my site after I transfer as it would be a serious headache, but I can't get anything to work script wise. Thanks for any info you have, Mav woooot
  12. Thanks, I appreciate the help on this matter. TCH Rocks Mav
  13. Umm, No such luck with the inserting the text into the box. Apparently the code is full of mistakes or something, if anyone can figure this stuff out I would greatly appreciate it. I would love to be able to use this address program. I just can't seem to get this SQL portion figured out. This is the website where I got the script from if someone wants to look it. http://a2z.sourceforge.net/ Mav
  14. Ah, I see! I'll try that out, I was wondering what that box was for but I didn't want to mess anything up. I'll give it a try and see what happens. Thanks for the assist, Mav
  15. I'll have to give it a try later tonight and see how it works. Thanks, Mav
  16. Yeah, I can create a database no problem. Only thing is I need to create all the tables by hand and all that stuff. If I could find out how to run this bad boy in some kind of command screen, I would be good to go. I tried creating some of the tables but my SQL skills are a little lacking on making sure my syntax and what not are correct, as I usually get errors when trying to make one by hand. I'll post the database file here to show everyone what tables and everything that it is trying to make. I tried making them by hand but I always seemed to make a mistake trying to make the individual tables. Mav
  17. Okay, I have a .PHP script that requires me to execute the CreatDB.sql file to creat a MySQL database. I'm not sure if or how I can do this. Does anyone know how I can make this happen. I have posted below the entire readme file for setting up on the server. I have edited the other files as it instructed, I just don't know how to make this thing create a MySQL database using these commands. I use CuteFTP Pro to upload my files or Cpanel's File Manager also. Thanks for any help you can give, Mav
  18. Okay, how does one edit the .htaccess file and which one and where is it? I need some explaining, I haven't had the luxury of playing with all the stuff on apache before. I need a who, what, where, explanation please. Thanks, Mav
  19. Okay, does anyone know how to change the error pages so that they point to a .php file instead of the .shtml file when I do a custom 404 error page? I see that cpanel automatically saves it as a 404.shtml file but I want a 404.php file. surefire has been helping me a little but he has left town for a little spell. Basically all I need to know is how I can change the server settings to look for a 404.php instead of a 404.shtml. Mav
  20. ahh, man! This script I got is very nice and would help out tremendously any web admin here. Very nice error reporting proggie! Assuming I can get it to work! So if I can get it to work I will share it with everyone. If not then I guess it doesn't really matter, because it don't work. Mav
  21. Okay, I was wondering if I can do a 404.php error page instead of the 404.shtml page? I have a intresting code I would like to try out, but it doesn't seem to work when I saved it as the 404.php. I did have a custom 404 error page from earlier, does that make a difference. Maybe the .shtml version needs to be deleted first or something? I don't know, any help on this would be appreciated. Mav
  22. I think I figured it out, apparently I was using test names to sign up. Apparently you cannot use the same password again for any other user and still login in. Yet it tells you know where about this, nor does it notify you that you cannot do this. Anyone know of a addon to control the login and permissions of the members in PHPNuke? I would like a better way to control permissions within the site. Like the controls you get in the forums for Invision board and PHPbb forums. Being able to make groups that only can see these pages or pictures or downloads ect..... I would like to hear all options or fixes, Thanks, Mav
  23. Okay, I put PHPNuke 6.5 on the server and it works good, the admin logs in fine, the regular pages display with now problem. But when I add users or users try to add themselves they cannot login. It just gives incorrect login, I've even tried setting up predefined accounts and still get the error. Maybe I missed something in the setup or something I don't know. That seems to be the only issue with the script. Any clues people? Mav
  24. Okay, I'll have to look at the reseller account thingy, It might work out better for me in the long run maybe. I'll be using more domain names real soon. Plus I'll be getting more small clients set up in the future. thanks, I'lll let you know which one I choose, Mav
