Is there a way to change your user name or do you have to stick with the one you were given?

Well, I'm back up and running as of late yesterday afteernoon. The only minor glitch was that the backups were only through 10/21. A pain, yes, but not a deal killer. I'd been telling myself I needed to learn to do the backups anyway so tack this on to lessons learned. I opened up a trouble ticket this morning just in case and got a detailed response within 30 minutes (WOW!). So now I just need to figure out how to do the backups (I'm sure it's simple). I'm just having trouble getting into cPanel right now so I'll wait a while for things to settle. Thanks to everyone for all of your help.

Backup? Heh. I though you guys did that. Um, I think you were gently telling me I need to take responsibility for regular back ups on my own. I'll open up a ticket just in case but I think I'll start doing them on a regular basis now. Thanks for all of your help.

With MT I tend to get alot of Trackback spam. And I mean alot. I've actually had to pretty much turn off trackbacks in my posts. I'm ok on comment spam so far. What if you have a design you want to transfer to WP? Is that difficult to do? I guess I need to do some reading.

Nooooooooo, it's much to soon. It always seems like I don't have any time to do anything when that happens. I work on a base, and the building I'm in has no windows either. I can never tell what the whether is going to be like, unless it's raining, and you can hear it hit the rooftop. I'm already missing summer.

Well, my blog is up and running! Yay! But, it seems that it has only restored my posts up until 10/20. Is the fix finished? Have I lost the last week? If so, is there any way to get them back? Thanks!

I'm no expert here, but I've been using MT for a long time. I know you said you couldn't post anything new, but have you tried rebuidling your entire site? I've had problems before similar to this, and the rebuild has worked. It probably won't work but it's worth a shot. I have heard alot about Word Press. Is it really that much better than MT? What are the pros?

My blog is not loading. When I go to my site, it tells me that Apache has loaded successfully. ????? I cannot even get into my posting page (add/edit...etc) as it tells me the page no longer exists. Here is the link. Can anyone give me any ideas? Moogie's World.

Thank you so much for the welcome. I cannot tell you how much valuable information I have already found here in such a short visit. As for my problem, I did get it fixed. I ended up in the live chat area as I really didn't know if this was the proper place to ask this question. Aparently, it was the filter settings. The guy who helped me (he was fantastic btw) told me that it was something that he needed to fix on his end and it was nothing that I had done. Again, thanks so much for the welcome. I will be coming back soon and often.

When I go to my site and look at the comments, all is well until I click on the name of the commentor and I get this error msg: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /mt/mt-comments.cgi on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. Can anyone tell me how to fix it? This has never happened before.
