Upload failed. Please ask the administrator to ensure the uploads directory is writeable. I had to use the forums insert message. The upload feature isnt working.

Hmm,... How do i know i have Excel setup ready for the conversion? All i did was in column "A" was to put the url address in it. Should i use another spread sheet page for the other items or just continue to column "B", "C" and so forth? Or is there a template that Excel has maybe that I can use to enter the data into? Jim

Hi everyone,... I'm not sure that this is in the right area but I'll try it here and see what responses i get. First off i have no idea on how to create a database. I own Excel and Access if i can use either of these. But anyway what i have done so far is i gathered websites that carry the products i wanting to use for a Price Comparison Site. I have 77 Websites which I have added to an Excel Spread Sheet. Lets say 10 of these sites carry the same tires including size, shape, model and make. Is there a way that i can get Excel to determine this so that it lists these tires in order from cheapest to more expensive? I'd also like to add an image of the tire also. I want to do this with Air Intakes, Rims, Accessories and all the parts i can find. Is Excel the best way to do this and how do i get them to see the items, pictures and prices and stuff. Do i have to create a new Spread Sheet for each of the Price then a new one for model and a new one for make, style and so on? Some products will have more features than other products. I also want to have a link to the product that is on the website that is selling the product. Just like pricewatch has. Any help would be very much Appreciated. If there happens to be a Excel Guru out there that could set this up faster than i can I will owe you BIG time. Suggestions, Solutions? Jim.

LOL,.. The #1 and #2 listings on google are the threads I created asking about the pricewatch clone script. Which link beside that $450 one are you refering to? The first script on Hotscripts doesnt even work and i downloaded it directly from the main website. 2 of the files it refers to are missing from the downloaded zip file. So i'm still lost. Jim

I love FrontPage, Thats what I learned on but i know nothing about php pages, databases or anything in the advanced area. I dont know why they can't create a program that will create the database for you. Right now i'm wanting to create a Price Comparison website and i want to be able to have a database where it'll keep track of the products and all i would have to do is enter in who sells that same product and at what price and then have it all sorted out by the database but i have no idea how to do this. I've read hundreds of tutorials over the last 10+ years and I still can't do it for the life of me. I try to ask people for help and get nadda. I'd like to learn Dreamweaver but when Dreamweaver Opens up I have no idea what i'm looking at and cannot create a website worth a crap with it. So i end up going back to what i know and thats FP. I wish there was a Step by Step way of creating a Database. Oh Well. My $0.02 Jim

I bought another domain name and I was wondering if it is possible to run two domain names off of one hosted server or will i need to pay for another plan here? If that is the case,.. do you get any kind of discounts for having 3 server plans here, i already have two here? Jim

Hi Everyone. Well my searches have come up empty. I want to create a website like Pricewatch.com but I want it to deal with automotive parts and accessories. Is it possible to create a site like this using FrontPage 2003? I tried making a site using the Templates supplied with FP 2003. I used the "Database Interface Wizard" But It seems to only create APS or APSX pages and I believe that TCH doesnt support ASP or ASPX pages on a Linux Server. Can someone please help me or point me in the right direction to creating a site such as that one? I'm So Confused! Jim.

Well I checked out 2 of those scripts and they are close to what i'm looking for but they dont seem to have the options that are offered on pricewatch.com So if anyone just happens to be surfing a script site and happens to see possibly what i'm looking for please leave a reply with a link to it. Hi everyone. I'm looking for a script that is like pricewatch.com or a price comparison site script. I want to have a listing such as they have it but dealing with automotive supplies, parts, whatever. Does anyone know of such a script or is able to make a pricewatch clone script? Do you have any suggestions? I would like to have the vendors be able to login to a database of sorts to add or edit their product so i wouldnt have to. I thought of a regular shopping cart script but the ones i found doesnt allow vendors to login and add or edit their products. I hope someone is able to help me out here, if you can write script and want to send me a P.M. with an offer or something I'll be more than happy to read what you have to say. Thanks a bunch. Jim

I dont know what to tell you folks, But Mike M I believe a lvl 2 tech was kind enough to solve the problem for me I think this morning, Something about the way the Server Security works on my site so It looks like I wouldnt have been able to fix the problem no matter what I did.. Not sure if Its the Mike M here that tried to help me or not but Thank You Mike M. Some people know stuff and some dont and from the looks of it, I'm glad I'm not in the boat alone Jim.

Mike,... So i should find the "/usr/bin/convert" Line. Whats the command to Comment it out? Is it a ; Infront of the line? Mike,... I got a question for you please,... When TCH adds scripts to the Fantastico page. Arnt these scripts tested at all? I dont know about anyone else and I'm like maybe a 4 out of 10 as far as Web creation goes, but in my mind of thinking, If I see an Install Button for a script and it goes as far as creating a Database and even asks whats the Admin name and password is going to be and Installs itself. I kinda expected it to work for me. Just like anything else in this world. Can you Imagine buying Microsoft Windows XP and having to tell the it How to seek out the Info that is stored in the Motherboard BIOS and having to write command lines for it telling it where to get the time from or how much memory is installed. I dont think anyone would own a PC if they had to do their own programming of it. I think It's Great that there are Scripts on that Fantastico page, But How many of those other scripts dont work? If i was some older lady or man or my young wife for that matter who wanted to create a Photo Gallery of their Grandkids or family I don't think they'd be able to do it if they just bought a domain name and then decided to sign up for your server services. Believe me, I know it isnt your fault, I worked for Sony PC Support from Day 1 when they only had 2 PC's out on the market, The PCV-70 and the PCV-90. At the end of 5 1/2 years Sony closed the Cali center because the Pay for employees were to high and they could get the people here in Florida at the Ft Myers Support center to do the support that they were doing for 1/2 the pay. We had to support Products that we've never even seen before or knew existed and I'm talking like having to support the huge $60,000 Video Cameras they use to make TV shows or the $10,000 Backup Units and Hardware used by Top 500 companies. Anyway,... Thank you for taking the time to try and lend a hand to me. But instead of beating my head on a rock to get ImageMagick to work because it doesnt seem like anyone knows where the path to it is, I'm just going to use the GD Bibliothek option and be very afraid to use some of the other scripts i was interested in. Hi everyone,... I used Fantastico and Installed 4Images Gallery, I was able to logon and Creat Categories but for some reason the directories wernt being created for the Categories I was creating so when I would try to upload a photo i would get an error that the directory wasnt there, So i went to 4Images Website for troubleshooting and read the install .Doc and it said to make sure the properties of the folder were 777 which they all were, The install must have done that for me. So anyway I created all the 8 directories for the Categories that I have and now I'm able to upload Pictures. But now I discovered the Thumbnail isnt working for ImageMagick, I've searched here trying to find the path to ImageMagick and theres like 20 different answers so I created a Support Ticket which in every single one of the topics here seem to have some Tech always saying go create a Ticket for your problem. So I did. Tina is telling me that correct part for ImageMagick is /usr/bin Well,... Needless to say, I'm still having the same problem inside the Admin Settings for Auto Thumbnailer. The message I get is: ImageMagick error. Wrong path or ImageMagick not installed. Check module settings So now it's been sent to a 2nd level tech. The last time this Tina helped me with a problem i had she kept giving me a solution with Typos in it and come to find out that was why that problem i had didnt get Fixed by her, I ended up spending 2 days researching and messing around until I solved the problem myself. I just want to know what the path is to ImageMagick Please. Has anyone here installed 4Images Gallery from their CPanel under Fantastico. To be truthful after the last issue i had, I just lost total confidence in Tina level 1 support ability. There are some really bright and smart Techs here like Tom, Rick, Bruce & Bill but I'm just hoping that someone here has installed this 4Images, Had the same problems and already got them fixed and working already, So if you have I'd really like to know what you did to get the Auto Thumbnailer to work for you. I dunno,.. thats why i'm asking. Should i be using Spam Assasin instead?

I'm not sure how but somehow I got onto a Chinese mailing list. Using Outlook I've tried blocking the sender, the domain ect but i still keep receiving spam,... you know how it is with spammers. But anyway, When i receive their emails they always have these  in them which I'm sure means something but my email program just hasnt converted it to english. My question, How do i block all emails with this  symbol in them? I dont even want to allow them to get thru to me. Is there away to have this email just bounce back to them so i dont even get it? Here's an example of the subject of the emails. 瘆碞琌暗ぃ幢暗ㄆ I'm in the cPanel right now and I've added the filter to block emails that contain  "Filter - Subject - that Contain - Destination = Discard" in the subject and saved it but the filter now says it's blocking ö and not . Also do i need to add the email addresses after the word Discard that i want this symbol blocked and not sent to? So whats the Best Way to Block these emails from ever being received? Thank you. Well yeah the problem is still happening. It's 3:59am right now so i'll submit a ticket when i get up. I submitted a ticket to delete the 2 folders and refered to this topic here all i got was an email back saying that the folders were deleted if there was anything else i needed to let them know. i wrote back, Thank you. But anyway yeah. I still havent heard back from the seller/install yet after like 6 emails about different question. i hope he writes back soon. Okay,.. night guys and gals. Question. for a quick response back after i submit a ticket, what should i say in the ticket so that the person who gets it fully understands what i'm asking them? Because i'm not really sure what the problem is other then not beable to delete some folders using File Manager. Thank you again Jim.
