Greetings! In an effort to watch for spyware and adware I have installed some software: -Spybot -SpywareBlasters I might have done it too late. I clean my computer cache and cookies almost every day. I run Spybot, and SpywareBlasters is more of a "firewall" for spyware. Using Norton SystemWorks 2006, I clean the temp files. There are always 8 temp files that cannot be removed, and this concerns me. Here they are: ZLT01320.TMP ZLT01319.TMP Perflib_Perfdata_510.dat mso2AF.htm IEC1.tmp mso2AF.htm IEC1.tmp NPJPI150_06.dll Does anyone recognize any of these files to be dangerous? Shouldn't I be able to remove all of my temp files from the folder? If these need to go, it may be I'll need to reformat my hard drive. Any insight on this would be great. Regards, queenpictoria

Hello, Now that I am using Firefox as my primary browser, I am learning some new differences between it and IE. I set up auctions on eBay and notice that the HTML I have been using works great for IE on eBay, but if I use the Firefox browser and go onto eBay, lots of my code appears off center. I am assuming I need to learn better code, and so I went onto mozilla and checked out some of the aspects of their HTML editor and it appears to be in another type of markup. So my question is this: Am I going nuts? I have used AceHTML for nearly 2 years and it matches well with IE. If AceHTML shows the tables centered and the text centered, and when I load it onto ebay, with IE all is well, then what do I have to do to make it right in Firefox? Does AceHTML address the characteristics in Firefox? Perhaps my code could be brought up to a better level. Perhaps there is another HTML editor that will work differently. I like AceHTML because it bas a viewer. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Regards, queenpictoria

Hello again! I use Zone Lab's "Zone Alarm" Firewall, and when I set it up, in their Preferences window, under the General Section they have an option to "Protect the ZoneAlarm Client". I checked that box, and that must have prevented the email. I then clicked on their OPTIONS button in that section and it asked for a Proxy Configuration. I checked the "Enable Proxy Server". I believe that is where it happened. Apparently, I didn't type anything into the Proxy Server Entry. So last night, I typed mail.queenpictoria.com. Then in the Port box I typed 110. There wasn't a problem last week, but I remember doing an update with Zone Alarm, and that might have changed the entries. I really don't ever remember entering anything in the Proxy Server. I am just learning to recognize what a Proxy Server is. So that part of it goes unanswered. So I guess I set up my own block by enabling the feature, but I needed to customize it to open it back up. I get lots of spam. I also decided to not do the Norton Firewall this year. I haven't studied Zone Alarm well enough, so when I set it up, I just clicked on everything that said "protect" for email. Well, I am learning, and the firewall works pretty well. It is free too, which helps. I wasn't going to stay with Zone Alarm since it is so cheap; thought I'd just try it out. I'm keeping it for now. Thanks for staying with me on this. I really need to be in a solution when this happens and it helps that I am being observed by others. Hope I can help someone else too. Have a great week, queenpictoria God Bless America as we remember those who died on 9/11/2001.

Hello Bruce, After groping around this computer for a couple of hours: Backed up my C:\ Drive Did system restore Did GoBack Nothing changed. I stopped for a brief respite of self-pity. Finally I went into my firewall: I set the Proxy Client configurations: mail.XXXXXXX.com and set port to 110. It is working now. Now, after throwing a fit. Seems like a pyrrhic victory now. I'm a bit jagged out right now. I really dislike getting upset over my computer. I hesitate to claim victory because there may be something tomorrow. But that will be then. I'll be rested and more grateful. I am glad I can stick with it, though. Knowing you folks are there to help me when you can makes a difference. Bless You. queenpictoria

Bruce, one other question... Is there a way to change the password or create the password for Thunderbird if it does not prompt the user to give one? Thanks very much. April

Hi Bruce, I added some new accounts so I could move the emails over to them while I re-do the older accounts. They don't ask for passwords either. The tray says connecting to mail.****, and it just sits there. I sent some new emails to the new accounts to see if they'd show up. Nada. 1) Does my computer need a password when I turn it on in order for this to work? 2) If I reload Thunderbird on my computer will it give me a second client, or will it overlay the one already here? No passwords come up. I can't even get it to say the server is not connecting. Maybe I need to chuck this Thunderbird. It's either not working or I'm not sharp enough to use it. REgards, April

Greetings Bruce. I go to Tools-->Options-->Privacy Tab--> view passwords. There is nothing in there...a blank window. There is nothing to erase. I went back into Cpanel and changed the passwords again to see if a new password would trigger the request for a password so I could save them. When I open Thunderbird, nothing happens. I can't seem to rouse the thing to do anything when I hit the "Get New Messages" button. Before I deleted the passwords, the window under "view passwords" had the webmail address and the password. It seems that deleting the passwords has deleted the webmail addresses as well...???? I am not sure if I should reset everything. If I do I don't want to lose the emails I've downloaded. Thanks for your continued response. I wish there was a manual I could read. The website instructions are difficult for me to wrap my mind around. Assuming things happen that either don't or haven't. Perhaps I have a closed mind. Regards, queenpictoria

Hi Bruce, I am a bit embarrassed, but evidently the passwords did not stick. I opened up Thunderbird again and tried to download the emails and nothing happened. So I went into Options --> Privacy --> View Passwords---. email addresses and the passwords were gone. Evidently I did not set the passwords up properly. I tried to see if there is an obvious way to do that, but then again it is probably the nature of security to make password setup a bit more illusive. Do I need to reset up the emails entirely? If I do, will it erase all my emails? Thanks for your encouragement. Regards, queenpictoria

Hello Again! I replaced the old passwords from the cPanel, went in and deleted the passwords in Thunderbird. After I closed Thunderbird, and I opened it up and gave it the new passwords (one for each email box) IT WORKED! Thanks very much. I guess the password wore out or something. Next time I'll know what to do. Have a nice weekend! Regards, queenpictoria

Hello JimE, Yes it is still not connecting to the server. I have three separate emails setup in thunderbird coming from my TCH webmail. Lately, all three have worked beautifully. Something has changed. I guess I need to reset my password for the separate emails, but I don't see where. I have looked both in Options and in Account Settings. I put in a Trouble Ticket to TCH Tech Support. Here is what their reply was: The server settings for all three email boxes is mail.****, and that I believe is correct. If any of this looks like a past experience you've had, I'd appreciate any clue you can divulge. Regards, queenpictoria

Hi Bruce, I feel a "de je vu" coming on. I know the password that opens my cpanel individual email. I found them in thunderbird, but I don't see how to go in and change it. I thought I screwed up my computer the first time I installed Thunderbird and reformatted my computer because I could not find the password on my computer. I found it in the application data: XXXXXXXX.default. Is that the password I need to change? It is interesting because I cannot associate anything I did that would cause this. ------ Perhaps if I change the password for each email inside the cpanel, thunderbird will automatically ask me to re-enter it. It hasn't done so. ----- It has been 24 hours and still no connection allowed by the server. I also put in a trouble ticket. ----- I strongly dislike this. Very humbling. Which way does the wind blow this evening? Regards, queenpictoria PS. I don't know how I'd learn anything without you guys. Thank you so very much.

Greetings! My Thunderbird email client has been working fantastic! I am learning gradually how far I can go with it. So I am at one of my first questions as a user: My computer has been working very well, and still is. I don't understand why this evening when I open Thunderbird and try to download new email, nothing happens. I get the Alert: "Could not connect to server mail.****; the connection was refused." I checked the Account Settings and I don't believe anything has changed. Has anything changed? Any suggestions? Regards, queenpictoria

Microsoft Outlook Email Client
queenpictoria replied to queenpictoria's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Hello Jim! It worked! I sometimes fly blind, and I thank you for your kind help. There was one thing you want to know: In step 7 of your instructions, which by the way very thorough, instead of typing in my email address (as you said it was in Step 5) it only took the username part of my email. My email is starrynight@my-domain.com. Step 7 only let me put in "starrynight". So I will archive those directions. I need to set up some other streams of email going into different accounts. I imagine it is the same process using a different email address. I am wondering if they can download into separate folders-- in other words the different email addresses would have different "chutes" to keep them separate from each other. I will take a run at it. Thanks all you guys. Thanks again, Jim, for the specific steps. Regards, queenpictoria Edit: changed domain on that email address so the spammers don't pick it up -
Thank you Jim, I want to get better at the code, and am glad that Firefox has higher standards. Regards, queenpictoria

Hello. I have installed Firefox on my computer and am studying it. I have an auction on eBay. It is a small webpage I build and upload-- strictly HTML. When I look at it on Firefox, many of the tables are off center. When I look at it on IE, it is just fine. Here is the link. ht*p://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120014100219 Does anybody know why the html is off center on Firefox, and is centered fine on Internet Explorer. Maybe Firefox is more picky about code..??? >>???? Any feedback would be appreciated. Regards, queenpictoria

Microsoft Outlook Email Client
queenpictoria replied to queenpictoria's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Hello. I have installed Thunderbird. I went in and did what I believe to be the same procedure I did with the incoming email. Nothing happens yet. Is there a page with the step by step procedure for the manual setup for outgoing email without having to set up a username and password with my ISP? Is it possible to go directly through TCH Squirrel for incoming mail. I may be missing a step in there somewhere. It seems I am getting close. Regards. queenpictoria -
Microsoft Outlook Email Client

Hello again Bruce! I have been doing some homework and found out that my ISP does not block ports 25 or 26. Is there a way to use TCH settings to send emails and not have to go out through my ISP (Verizon). Thanks, queenpictoria -

Hi Bruce. Thanks for your reply. When I use my ISP for my outgoing SMTP server, can I still have my domain email to be the one they reply to when they respond to an email. I am on Verizon for ISP. My email is on TCH: starrynight@my-domain.com I don't want anything on verizon to cloud things. Will the response email still be "starrynight@my-domain.com"? I guess I should know this, but I don't. Thanks for the clarity. I have Thunderbird set up to receive emails. Now I just need to know how I can send them through Thunderbird. Regards, queenpictoria EDIT: TCH-Bruce - I edited your email address to prevent spam robots from picking it up. -

Thomas, How do you work out the sending of emails since your isp blocks ports 25 and 26? Thanks, queenpictoria -

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello Thomas, It has been quite a while since I last approached this topic. I had messed up my Documents and Settings folder (at least that is what I believe) and could not know the correct password for downloading email from TCH's webmail. I have reformated my hard drive and reinstalled Windows XP. I have installed both Firefox and Thunderbird. Everything ought to be in order to set up Thunderbird now, and it is the most recent updated version. I am looking forward to using it. I have a couple of questions: 1)Is the webmail POP3 or IMAP? 2)I came across the same screen asking for a password. I put in the TCH password and it did not work. I put in the TCH individual email password and it did not work. What password are they looking for. I know I am not an idiot but it is tempting to feel like one right now. Do you know which password they are looking for. They ask for a new password. I'm a bit confused. Perhaps you or someone can shed some light. Blinded by ignorance, queenpictoria -
Tch Webmail - How To Use Html
queenpictoria replied to queenpictoria's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Hi Jim, I don't want to be paranoid. Malicious people are everywhere. Can you be a little more specific please. I really appreciate it. Take care, queenpictoria -
Hello. I did a test on the webmail by putting this link into it: <a href="http://www.queenpictoria.com/EMAIL/QEmailPart1.html" target="_blank">Email Brochure</font></a> I sent it to my hotmail address hoping for a way to hide the URL, but alas, it didn't work. How do I implement HTML into my beloved webmail? Thanks, queenpictoria

Greetings! If someone looks at the source page of my work, they can, of course, see all my links. Someone has expressed interest in some of my backgrounds, and, of course, he wants it cheap. My backgrounds are not for sale. So now I realize there will be people who'll try to use my work without me knowing it. If they have my link code they can pull any background off my domain site. Is there a way I can protect my work? Is there a way to find my background on someone else's site? I know there will be something happen sooner or later. Life can be unfair. It's not like I'm in such demand. I just don't like the idea that someone could use my hard work for their own purposes. Any suggestions? queenpictoria Thanks for your attention on my behalf.

Hi Tim, Thank you for your continued interest. Our eBay account was "hijacked" to the extent that the culprit got in and sent fake emails to a bidder. It was a fake "second chance" opportunity that is sometimes offered when the winning bidder fails to pay. The bidder thought it was me and made a purchase. The bidder was new and had not learned to not answer emails regarding eBay that were not also in the box provided on eBay itself. Needless to say, the bidder was ripped off. To the extent that the culprit got into the account, they might have also got into other private information, including private email. Of course, I don't log the passwords for TCH anywhere on eBay, but there was some concern there could be some other breech. That is why I am just changing passwords. I figured it best to check before I changed everything. I don't really know how anybody could get the keys to the domain unless I was on an insecure WiFi service, in which case I don't log onto secure sights. Anyway, thanks for all your support. You guys are so great! queenpictoria

The site was not hacked to my knowledge. There is some association with eBay since they use an email I have on TCH as part of my ID and communication with them. I didn't know someone could get into the email by subverting the domain security. I assumed that if they couldn't get into the domain, they'd be locked out of the emails as well. Thanks. I'll change them as well. Regards, queenpictoria
