  1. Hi Bruce, Thanks for your help. I am looking to log back into the Zen Cart, and the last link you gave me is supposed to help me. I tried it twice today, but maybe the third time will do it. I want to paste the verbage here so you can look at it. Do you know what it is saying? I know the Database Username and Password, but I am not sure how to put it in here. I tried and have failed. What do you see? I went into the SQL button and put in what I thought was the correct values but do not know how to read it. Let me use fake Username and Password and perhaps you can tell me where to put what in where. Fake Username: GreenTea Fake Password: YogiBear If you just want to throw this out in left field I understand. :) If I do not find the answer soon, I will just uninstall it and start over. It won't kill me. I've wasted the whole afternoon because I lost my notes. Thanks, April
  2. Hello. I ventured out to other forums and I come back here once again. This question is humbling, but it may not have a place on TCH Forums. Just let me know. I may have to uninstall the shopping cart and re-install it because I cannot find my notes with all the USERNAME and PASSWORD!!! How do I retrieve both of them????? I am not an idiot. That is not my excuse. Intelligence is not a defense. Anyway, can anyone tell me the facts. The support forum for Zen Cart is slient. Any experience in this blunder? I can reinstall and start anew. Regards, queenpictoria
  3. Hello Bruce, Thank you for your help. I am beginning to understand. I will save a copy of my ".default folder" (sj8lyymw.default) from the backup and copy it to the new Profiles folder after the format. Once this is done, I rename the name of the default folder inside the profiles.ini file so the path is restored from the backup. I am guessing that through the rename of the path, when I transfer the files back into the C Drive, the emails will fall into the correct folders. How does this sound? I am going to have to do it before I really get it. I will do a fresh backup and begin the reformat. If I have questions I will ask them. I know I am responsible for all of this. Thanks for your help. Regards, queenpictoria
  4. Thomas, As far as I know this is the profile I have on backup. I have done nothing to change it. I just found it. Does it change itself?
  5. Hello. I know I am not an idiot but I really feel like one. I resist Thunderbird's online tutorials because they are written by people who use comments like "the rest should be obvious". What if it is not obvious? I really dislike reading their tutorials. That is my problem. I found my profiles folder in the file: :\Documents and Settings\My Full Name\ApplicationData\Thunderbird\Profiles\ This is what I have: [General] StartWithLastProfile=1 [Profile0] Name=default IsRelative=1 Path=Profiles/sj8lyymw.default ------------------------------------------------ The one Thomas gave me was: [General] StartWithLastProfile=0 [Profile0] Name=Tompa IsRelative=0 Path=C:\Thunderbird\Profiles\profilename.default (NOTE: This needs be the name of the profile name you transferred back from your backup) Default=1 So please tell me what I do with this profile. Thank you so much for your patience with me. I am slow today. April
  6. Thanks Rosanne, I still am not there but I appreciate your enthusiasm. queenpictoria
  7. Hello Bruce, I chose to not have a login name for my computer. Is that why I do not get past "Application data"? The instructions for XP say, "C:\users\[user Name]\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\" I go into the Applications data folder and there is no Thunderbird file or Roaming. Can I set up a profile and back up the C Drive again? Will that do any good. Thanks. queenpictoria
  8. Hello Thomas, Thanks for your reply. I have no idea what you are referring to. I have loaded Thunderbird at least 5 or 6 times and have never seen the configurations you are referring to. Please clarify what these configurations are and where they are found. I am obviously way off track. Thanks very much, queenpictoria
  9. Hello. I appreciate you being here. It has become necessary for me to reformat my hard drive. I have backed up my C Drive on an external hard drive. I do it frequently. Once I reformat my hard drive and re-install the programs and applications, how do I retrieve my email files found inside my Thunderbird client? Are the files on my C Drive, because I cannot find them. Any light to shine on this? Thank you very much. queenpictoria
  10. Hello. I am new at CSS but have four years in HTML. In HTML, one can use the "alt tags" which are found after URL of the pictures and images. With CSS, is the "alt tag" still used in the code after each image? If so, where? Are the images placed in the css document without any "alt tags"?? What happens if the picture or image does not come up with no "alt" title to describe the image. What then? The "alt tags" are also a great way to embed keywords into the document. what is the advantage to CSS in this way? I am very new to CSS and believe I need this answered so I can move on. Does this make sense to anyone? Thanks! queenpictoria
  11. Hello. I am preparing an email campaign and am building an address list for specific targeted companies. Is there a feature in Thunderbird that will automatically put the name of each individual company in the greeting at the top of each email? In other words, is there a way to automatically personalize each email? For example I would like the name of the person in each email to be placed here: "Hello ____________," I hope that makes sense. Thank you for your help. queenpictoria
  12. Hello Everyone, My webmail gets very full and I do not visit it as often since I used Thunderbird as a client. It seems to me there was a place where I could ask for the email to be cleared out of the webmail after I download it to my computer via my client. I cannot find it. Does anybody know what I am looking for? Have a wonderful day, queenpictoria
  13. Bruce, What is going on? I log in as a GuestGuestqueenpictoriaGuest. I don't get it. Am I in the dog house?
  14. Hello again, Just another note: Some of the tutorials on phpFormGenerator have been removed. It looks as though nobody has really touched this site for a year or so. Looks a bit weak to me. Regards, queenpictoria
  15. Hi Thomas. Thanks for all your help on this forum. You've helped me a bunch. I appreciate it. Is there a written tutorial on how to set up a webform on TCH.????? The live chat skims over it. They say TCH doesn't do webforms anymore because of, spam??? Is that it. The live chat is not working for me. Sorry. Maybe nobody really does this webform stuff. I get answered with canned answers and websites. I need more information. Any suggestions? I notice you have a very nice forum with webforms all over the place. I am reading about this stuff, but it sounds like cgi-bin is out. So why is there a cgi-bin on my domain? Isnt' that where I am supposed to upload the whatever-it-is I am supposed to upload? I know I need to ask you for patience. I'm on the wrong road at the moment. Lost, you might say. I downloaded phpFormGenerator and my zip is full of several files. What am I supposed to do with all this? The readme file gives short abbreviated directions, obviously assuming I know something I haven't learned yet. Is ths a trial by error experience on TCH, or is there a real way to do this? Does anybody do webforms on TCH? I am sure they do. The websites are not self-explanitory. Great car, no road??? Some developers seem to assume I understand what they are talking about. It can get a bit over my head. Should I just jump ship? Thanks again. queenpictoria
  16. Hello Mike, I want to set up a webform to send out to my clients. Is there a way I can set up the webform so the data will come to me via my email? I know intermediate HTML and have a webform drawn up. Here it is: http://www.queenpictoria.com/EMAIL/FormWebpage.html Now, I realize I may be far afield. This is all new for me. It looks as though if I were to insert the correct code in this webform, the data could be directed to my email box. Is that true? I need to get this webform out by the end of the week..somehow. Any suggestions? Anybody else have any experience? Thank you. Regards, queenpictoria
  17. Thank you very much.
  18. Hello. I am looking for a standard webform template. I also need to understand how to hook it up to the domain. I think it involves - public_html/cgi-bin. This is new territory and I am intermediate with HTML. I have a webform put together, but need to know how to hook it up. I'd like to see some other examples of webforms. There is more to it than I can see. Any direction would be appreciated. I have found http://www.webform.com, but they want me to hook the form up to their site. I want to use my domain here on TCH. Any suggestions? Thank you. queenpictoria
  19. Bruce! Thanks for shedding light on something I've wondered for a while! I'll check my settings. Best, April
  20. Hello. I so much appreciate you guys being there. In making an effort to save my emails before reformatting my hard drive, I went through Thunderbird's Message Storage and found the Local Folders file where the emails are. They have extension names and I was wondering if anyone knew what the extensions represented. In the “Local Folders” file, the two extensions: “.msf” and “.sbd”. What do they represent? This forum really helps me keep trying to learn. Thanks for the help I’ve already received. Regards, queenpictoria
  21. Hello. I have been using Thunderbird for several months now. I am getting a bit more comfortable with it. In the process of finding my email folders for saving to my hard drive, I discovered a previous concern I had forgotten about. I am finding myself still not able to find the "Application Data" file in my C Drive. I know it is important because I've needed it before and I do now. I am puzzled because I found it only by walking back from Thunderbird Message Storage. So I am concerned because when I am looking for the “Application Data” file on my C Drive, it is not there. Am I supposed to see it inside my “Username” file? Apparently it is there, because if I go into Thunderbird \ Tools \ Account Settings \ ---There is a “Message Storage” section that shows me the path to the Local Folders file. The Local Folders file is inside the Application Data so it must be there. I click on the browse button inside Thunderbird and it opens up a file tree. As I walk the path back, there it is: Documents and Settings \ Username \ Here all the folders are, including “Application Data” \ Thunderbird \ Profiles \ xxxxxx.default \ Mail \ Local Folders. This is great because I now know that I do have a folder called “Application Data”. The thing that bothers me is that I cannot get at it though “My Computer”. When I try to go to “Application Data” through My Computer this is what happens: My Computer \C Drive \ Documents and Settings \ Username \ and then I see the items under “Username”: Cookies Desktop Favorites My Documents Start Menu UserData WINDOWS But NO “Application Data” Does anyone else have this happen? Is there another way to find the “Application Data” file other than through Thunderbird’s Message Storage, and there by walking it back? Perhaps there is something I cannot see. Maybe my settings are off. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks for being there!! Sincere Regards, queenpictoria
  22. Hello Don, I am using Thunderbird for email client. Do you know how I can find the email inside Thunderbird? Regards, queenpictoria
  23. Hello. I am getting ready to transfer my computer work to a new computer. I am trying to backup my C Drive and could not get my Pocket Sync program to back it up without interruption. I went through my C Drive and saved everything except the Program Files and the Windows file. I am not entirely sure of what I am doing, but there is one thing I'd really like to do I've never been able to do before. I'd like to save my emails. It is not obvious to me where to find my emails in the C Drive. I need to make sure I make an actual copy of the emails, not just a shortcut. Well, there it is! Any suggestions? Thanks. Regards, queenpictoria
  24. Thomas! Here is a progress report: I went to "Run" and typed in "%temp%". It brought up 8 files and I was able to delete all of them. I then ran Norton and have only 3 temp files now that will not be removed. One of them is the "Perflib_Perfdata_510.dat". Thanks, April
  25. Hi Thomas! I feel like a real idiot, but when I open "My Computer", I don't see an address bar. I am sure as soon as I post this reply, I'll find it. That's the way it usually works for me. I'll try a few different things with %temp%. Thanks for your attention on this for me. You are always a great support! I'll get to the bottom of this. Regards, April
