  1. As i poked around more with Word Press i have to say, I'm incredibly shocked at the poorly thought out navigation of their site. There is so much confusing and redundant link arrangements that my head was spinning just barely scratching the surface. I'll be honest, that alone is making me about ready to say screw it and go with Blogger. Has anybody else in here found the Word Press site as confusing, and is there anyone here who can give me a good reason why it might be worth it to deal with such headaches over going with a service like Blogger?
  2. Hi--I'm working on setting up a blog on my site...actually I'm returning to the process after abandoning it months ago. Back then i loaded wordpress since several threads seemed to strongly recommend it, and now that I'm coming back to it things are moving smoothly enough, but i dipped back into fantastico just to refresh my memory of what all is in there, and realized there's two other blog services linked, b2evolution & Nucleus. Does anyone here use these or have experience comparing them with Word Press? I'd like to get a sense for how these rate before i invest myself deeply into wordpress. Thanks!
  3. Ok. I guess that'll be something i'll have to ask more about after getting things set up. I have no idea what a cronjob is.
  4. I've never heard of posting to myspace via email, and am considering starting a blog with wordpress after reading all the feedback in here...can you please explain this idea of posting to multiple blogs using your email?
  5. Hi. I’m new to the TCH forums. I’m completely ignorant about blogging—aside from some research I’ve been doing during the last day or so—and am looking for some advice about potentially integrating a blog into my existing site. Some background info on my site: I’m a novice comic book artist striving to publish professionally and I’m making an effort to completely revamp and streamline the way I communicate with my audience. In the past I’ve sent out regular emails to my audience as I had new artwork available on my site and would also post those notices as updates to the main page of my site; I also have links to a forum hosted elsewhere for people to comment on my work. Not long ago I joined Myspace (and a similar space specifically for comic artists) because of how many friends were tapping into that…but I feel that none of these have been very successful, and I am beginning to feel weighed down with keeping all of these things straight. Now I’m looking into what keeping up a separate blog entails and am realizing that I’m overwhelmed with all the potential variables and uncertain how to proceed. I’m desperate to simplify my situation overall and come up with a long term solution i'll be satisfied with, but don’t know what would make the most sense and am looking for some guidance. Since I already have a website, is there a way to incorporate a fully functional, dynamic blog into my site without needing to subscribe to a separate service, or are there benefits to having both, and if so, how do I get them to work together as seamlessly as possible to minimize efforts and not confuse my audience? If anyone has any advice or can point me in the direction of someplace that can work with me and help me figure out what I really need—and what I don’t--I’d greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Eric Wilmoth

  7. if i get a hosting plan in my name, what must i do to transfer it to another party?
  8. actually, one other thing--if i aqure hosting in my name, is that easily transferable to another individual, like a domain is?
  9. totally--thanks!
  10. does that extend the contract, or how does that work?
  11. hey, if i see that i can make mini upgrades to my hosting if my needs increase, but what about bumping up to the next package? can i simply do that if i want to?
