I was looking on the website for "mambo" and it looks intreaging and I was wondering if anyone has used a CMS before and do you have have any words of wisdom on using them. It seems to make sence that if your site is in constant change that this is the way to go. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Lee

BoxersRule I have used the IPB to SMF converter and it was slick. Not a single problem. The only one I had was finding the password for the MySQL user used to make the database. This was JimE's response: Hello Lee, If you access your cpanel, and then go to file manager. Use this to navigate to the folder containing SMF. I believe the file your looking for is settings.php Open this and scroll down to database info, this is where it shall be contained. JimE And then the converter worked like a charm. The files names are as such: wysywigPro_edit_index_m_php.php They seemed to showup after I used the HTML edit FileManager option. I would like to get rid of them if I can safely do it. Lee

for publishing in CSB 5. After the install of the release version I have had problems with publishing. The file that keeps track of updates has a problem and I get an error. If I retry it then works, but something must be incorrect in the setting. Can someone post here the correct settings for publishing to TCH. Thanks Lee P.S. I have a bunch of these files on my account and I am wondering if I can remove them. Can someone tell me what they are, are they backups when you use the HTML edit feature of file manager? All I really need is, is it safe to remove them. Lee

Bruce Thanks for the ideas but I can't seem to see any way to set a new pasword in phpadmin, and I have a user that I know the password for and that does not work. Bruce That info is for the admin of the board, I think that the conversion program wants the MySQL user password. Is there any way to find out what the pssword is for the MySQL users in cPanel?? Lee

I installed Simple Machines with Fantastico and it created the MySQL database with user "mfxnjunn_smf1" but I have no idea what this users password is. Does anyone know what this would be. I need it to a conversion from IPB to SMF. Thanks for any help. Lee

I have just upgraded Gallery2 from 2.0.2 to 2.1.1 and I need to have a shell script run to remove unneeded files. How do I do this? Should I submit a ticket to have tech support do this? Thanks for any help. Lee

Bruce it is version 1.5.1 I think, it does not use a SQL database, flat files for the photo's. I wish I could tell you what the permissions where before the migrate but I can't. Why would those change in doing the migration?? I am having then do a restore of the gallery and albums directories at this time. I will let you know what happens. Lee

Has anyone had this message when going into their gallery photo album: Error: Your Userfile is not writeable That is what I see now that the migration is done. I have a ticket submitted but they keep saying all is alright. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Lee

Hi all I tried to install SMF through the new Fantastico and it works fine. But in the install process you are not asked for a password for the default MySQL user of the database. Does anyone know what it is or how to change it correctly. I went into setup screen that showed many * for the password and when I clicked on the field it went blank, so I figured that this is when you set the password. So I entered a new on and did a confirm. Then when I saved the changes I could not get back into the application. So I removed the install and will try again later on. But any help would be nice.
