  1. WebCalendar - I find all my scripts at www.hotscripts.com I might have an example running off my website www.cheapwebsolutions.com under services. If that's not working and you want to see one in action, I can give you access to another.
  2. Gallery is great. I've got about 1200 photos online and it's heavily used by my daughter's cheerleading squads. It can take some getting used to, but I haven't seen better.
  3. Yesterday they were talking in another thread about being able to transfer my cPanel from my old host to my new. I don't know if that included all my MySQL databases or what. I take it they'll come over fine? I'm wondering how that will work. If for instance I was user USER1_ at my last host, all my db are USER1_commerceDatabase ... now at this host I'm USER2_ . Wondering how it all works. I guess it does since many have transfered before me!! I see my main domain name has propagated, so I'd better get moving ... literally!
  4. I'm going to bring over my databases from my old host. My user name is in a ton of scripts I run, like message boards, galleries, all that. I thought maybe I could create the same user name through cPanel, but it only concatenates it with my new TCH user name. Is my only option to go through my scripts when I bring them over and change the user name? Also can someone show me how to do the cPanel transfer? Head Guru had mentioned they'd transfer if it qualified. I don't mind trying myself.
  5. I don't think that would apply here. These people are asking me to set it up this way. Any mail that goes to VP should go to email1 and email2.
  6. A client would like me to forward email to multiple accounts. Is there a nifty trick to do this? Email goest to VP_Football@domain.com and he would like it to go to VP1@domain.com and VP2@other_domain.com Is this possible? Maybe I do multiple forwarding withing my site to get it out the door?
  7. So when xyz.com wants me to host them I create them as an add-on domain? I have a resellers account. Trying to figure it all out! Just found WebHost Manager. Let me check this out first shutup
  8. Hi Bill, I'll try to IM you now. I sent you and email through this board at 5:30PM and spoke with cerealkeeler in IM around 1:30PM. Maybe the email didn't go through? I can't tell for sure since it wasn't from my outbox. ---- Update ... just got my email. Thank you very much. Mike
  9. Hey guys, don't forget about me Dance cheapwebsolutions.com But if my email address is valid why would the mail not go through? info@cheapwebsolutions.com mail should go there shouldn't it? I'm getting other mail there today. My head hurts.
  10. Along the same lines as that question. Don't worry, I'm not complaining. I signed up yesterday afternoon. I just want to make sure I didn't mess anything up with my setup. I too received confirmation yesterday, but nothing since. I signed up with the domain cheapwebsolutions.com which is a virtual domain with my current host. I might have to do something special with them since I didn't create the info@cheapwebsolutions.com email I entered during registration. That email address just forwards mail to my home account. A reason I ask so early in the process is that my newest account wants to get going and I'd like to get him the named server info so he can point his domain at the TCH server. TIA. PS - Is this my wife? Whip
  11. Bill - Is this common practice and is it simple for you guys to do? I too figure is my headache, but if I screw things up once my account is set I may get a support ticket myself
  12. Okay, Okay, I'm sold I think I'll sign up for the Basic Reseller plan. I'll probably start of with adding these new accounts to TCH. I'm sure I'll have a few questions once I start transfering the CPanel and FTPing the files. Whew ... I have a lot of work ahead of me! Thanks for all the help. Mike
  13. I thought that too. What I don't understand about resellers is what I pay for? Don't I have space that I pay a set amount for and divy it up as I can? My current host only offeres resellers their set plans that they can turn and charge more for. I just wonder if paying for these accounts separately would cost me more in the end? I'm probably not explaining everything clearly. I do that a lot. This is what I'm doing now: Pro plan - 750 MB $24.99/mo. Virtual domains - 5 x $5/mo. Now with a reseller would I pay for 5 accounts? Or could I set my self up with the account and just use 5 of my own accounts? My current host leads me to believe with them I'd have to buy 5 basic plans, that's why going with their $80/mo. VDS makes sense because I could put all the domains there. Oh yeah, plus I just picked up two new accounts to design and host. Nerd
  14. That would be cool. You have the email system I currently use and would like to be able to transfer that all over as well. Do you allow NetPBM ? I run Gallery, I do all the optimizing of my pictures before I upload, but the software needs NetPBM to work. I know my current host wasn't real happy I had it on the server. Of course they never told me that before-hand, just sent me a nasty nasty email.
  15. All feedback is welcome. Trying to make an informed decision this time and read before I buy. I think I'm paying a lot now and it would be even more if I stay with my current host. A concern of mine is FTPing everything from one host to the other. I guess I can create my same named MySQL user so I don't have to go through all my scripts? I have about 40 MySQL databases right now between 6 of the sites. I have CPanel with my existing host. I see there is a chance I can copy a lot of my settings on over.
  16. I'm at the point in my web business where I'm ready to step up. I'm currently pretty happy with my web hosting company, except for price. I'm getting creamed with virtual domain fees of $5/month per domain. I started out with one domain that I develop and host out of my pocket. Now I have something like 5 domains that I deveolp and host out of pocket. I'm to the point where I'm paying about $50/month for 750 MB. If I move up to their virtual dedicated server I will pay $80/month for 3 GB and unlimited domains. I now have a few paying jobs that want me to host. I like what I see/read about TCH so far. Their price for what I might need is around $25/month and they have unlimited email, mysql databases and domains which are three things I'm looking for. To those who have been through this before, what does it look like I need? Do I go with a reseller program so that I can offer hosting and separate access to customers? Right now if I host a site ALL access comes through my main account. Thanks in advance.
