Don't know about you, but the various places around TCH I see the email set up guidelines they have a tendency to contradict each other. How about a bog standard set of email client configuration guidelines on the email FAQ page, and a link to that page where the other guidelines are now found? Such as in CPanel for example.

As long as I can get it installed without having to put up with "admin" as my admin name. That is so mundane.

Since apparently nobody has asked, I thought I would. WordPress 2.7 has an upgrade feature. One can by using the feature upgrade one's WordPress installation. But only if one is upgrading from 2.7 or subsequent releases. The question I have is this, Will Total Choice allow this, place restrictions on it, or ban its use? Since 2.7 is soon to be released I thought it would be a good idea to clarify things.

From the TikiWiki forum I was informed that TikiWiki requires access to the /temp folder. Is this a permissions problem?

That's what I got when trying to install TikiWiki. Somebody screwed up the installation script.

Looking for information on how much memory is allocated to PHP, and if it is possible to have that allocation increased. I've heard most hosts set it at 8 megs, but a number of PHP using applications (weblogs, wikis, and CMSs) require 16 or even 32 megs

Fantastico upgrade expectation? An upgrade to Wordpress 2.3 for example. Last I heard that uses PHP5. And speaking of Fantastico, when ever I click on Fantastico in my control panel I get a 404.

After PHP and MySQL are upgraded to version 5 when can we expect an upgrade to cPanel and Fantastico?

I just installed Drupal on mythusmage.com in the root directory, Drupal needs a cron-job for certain functions. The command would be... The (partial) file path is, /public_html/cron.php in case you're wondering.

Went to my cpanel and redirected unrouted email to : mythusmage@mythusmage.com. I got the following message: Funny, I though mythusmage at mythusmage.com was the main account. When did mythusmage@mythusmage.com stop being a valid email account or alias?

The good news is, I downloaded Lifetype 1.0.5.zip, then uploaded Lifetype 1.0.5.zip to my site. Followed instructions, and got started on installing. However, I seem to be having some trouble connecting to the server. I put in the info, hit "next" and get: Any ideas, or should I open a trouble ticket? Update: Call me clueless but, would I use "localhost" or "localhost" with parentheses or such like. Quotes maybe? EDIT: TCH-Bruce - I have removed your TCH account name. Please don't post that in the forums.

I'm trying out different blogging engines. One of them being Lifetype. Most of the time I can download to my machine, upload to TCH, and install. Not with Lifetype. I have an old, OS 10 incapable iMac. OS 9 can't handle long file names. So Lifepath's long file names get truncated. The result is, file names Cpanel doesn't recognize, and won't rename because, according to Cpanel, they don't exist. Makes installing Lifepath impossible. So I come to the TCH community with a plea for assistance. I can provide the URL, username, and password for my account. All I ask is that some kind person upload Lifetype for me. I can handle installation from there. My thanks to whoever helps.

Actually, I can't. Install that is. In order to install I need to set up a database. But according to PHPmyAdmin I'm not authorized to set up databases. And I'm not all that clear on setting up new databases, or converting an existing database to a new purpose. In any case, I'm off to check with the b2evolution people about administration, management, and stuff like that. Update: Clicked on your link and was sent to a page that said (so to speak), "You came from a spammer site, so nyah!" I think TCH will want to communicate with b2evolution.

b2evolution is not available through Fantastico. According to the Fantastico people the option to install b2evolution was disabled by TCH. Any possibility of getting b2evolution re-enabled?

Have Word Press installed at Mythusmage Opines, and a CMS and the forum at Mythusmage. Need to write up an index page for Mythusmage, along with getting two wikis put in. I expect a lot of people are going to be busy for a month or two getting stuff configured. BTW, b2evolution is not available via Fantastico. Anybody know why?
