TCH-Thomas Posted April 17, 2004 Posted April 17, 2004 I just had a look on one the sites i´m building/maintaining. This site uses 2 frames. In Mozilla it shows a horizontal scrollbar in left frame but in I.E no horizontal scrollbar just the vertical one (as its supposed too). How come? Quote
Madmanmcp Posted April 17, 2004 Posted April 17, 2004 A scrollbar appears when the frame is too big to fit in the browser window. If you expand the width of the whole browser window the frame will probably drop the scollbar. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted April 17, 2004 Author Posted April 17, 2004 (edited) Yup, I know, but thanks Madman. My problem is though "why does I.E show it (the frame) as wide as i want too but not mozilla?" Edited April 17, 2004 by Jikrantz Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted April 17, 2004 Posted April 17, 2004 Doesn't Mozilla use a larger font size by default? That could account for the scroll bar. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted April 17, 2004 Author Posted April 17, 2004 (edited) Never thought of that, but i just checked and it looks same to me. Here´s the site Im talking about Marve Assistans, its completely in swedish though, but for just checking fontsizes i think it will work. Edited April 17, 2004 by Jikrantz Quote
LisaJill Posted April 17, 2004 Posted April 17, 2004 I don't see this behavior in firefox or IE on the pc; no horizontal scroll in either frame... Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted April 17, 2004 Author Posted April 17, 2004 Hang on... I post screen shots from what i see soon. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted April 17, 2004 Posted April 17, 2004 (edited) Thomas I played with my fonts in Firefox. Setting it to 13 or less and the scroll bar went away. At 14 or above it appears. I run at 1280x1024. Edited April 17, 2004 by TCH-Bruce Quote
Bunni Posted April 17, 2004 Posted April 17, 2004 I use FireBIRD and the scroll bar is present in the left screen. Not so in IE6. Resolution 1024x768 Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted April 17, 2004 Author Posted April 17, 2004 Screen shot from I.E Resolution 800x600 Quote

DarqFlare Posted April 17, 2004 Posted April 17, 2004 I see it. Look at the scrollbars themselves. The IE scrollbars don't have that extra "grey" padding around them. The Mozilla ones do, making the scrollbars fatter, and taking away the screen real estate of the frame. Increase the left frame size and you'll be good. Either that, or find a way to define the scrollbar size (I don't think you can). Quote
