Donovan Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 What is considered spam or what is the limit. I just finished my site and I wanna email family and friends and associates about but the problem I have about 300 people in my contact list and I dont want my account suspended or deleted for what may appear as spam! Thanks Donovan Quote
TCH-Andy Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 Hi, It is not the number that defines email as spam - it is the conten, and if people have asked you to send it to them. If these are 300 friends, who have asked you to send them some information - there is no problem. If these are 300 email addresses you have chosen from people you have never met - and intend to send them advertising material, for your new super product, it would be spam. Quote

It's 300 friends that I have in my address book, but don't know about my website and I want them to know. Im just checking first because I don't want to be seen as a spammer and have my site deleted, but it's all personal address from people I know. Thanks Donovan Quote
TCH-Don Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 I use a program called Group Mail Free. It uses your ISP. You can set it to send 20 at a time then pause 5 seconds and continue for up to 100 in a group to satify your ISP as they will have a limit of how many you can send at once. And you can have many groups and send the message to the next group....... You should include an optout message at the bottom. hope this helps. Quote
