teyong Posted March 9, 2004 Posted March 9, 2004 I have been having some reactions from my service and applications. I used Black Vipers settings and did not record my orginals (Dumb, Dumb, Dumd). One was/is Zone Alarm which maybe fixed with a new version downloaded today. The problem was: See attach. one my system settings: attach. two my error for system: attach three my error for applications: attach four Thank you for taking a look David 030804_SYSTEM_LOG_FILE_REPORT.txt Quote
ThumpAZ Posted March 9, 2004 Posted March 9, 2004 From my experiences, when you start getting errors of that type, it is best just to reinstall the operating system to clear them up. The Universal PNP, Routing and Remote Access, Internet Connection Firewall are all root operating system components of Windows or integral parts of Internet Explorer and I know of nowhere you can simply "get a fix" for them. You may be able to clear up those associated with Internet Explorer by downloading the latest version and installing it. Reinstalling the operating system is not as bad as you might think, especially with Windows XP (which it appears you are running). The only thing you will need to make sure you do after the reinstall/repair is to run Windows Update and get the patches reinstalled. The Application errors you are seeing are related to Zone Alarm and the Universal PNP (Plug and Play) Framework which I think is closely tied to Sony Vaio products (you may have to download te new driver for this form Sony's site). Once you get everything back up, I would just have some small suggestions for your services list. Feel free tocontact me once you are at that point and we can go over some methods to free up resources on your machine... without causing this type of catostrauphic result. Quote
teyong Posted March 23, 2004 Author Posted March 23, 2004 Glenn, ReLoaded from my Sony Recovery Disk after I made sure the disk were clean. I am still having some problems:::: ??? Sony Vaio - Windows XP Home SP1 and all updates 1.5 g RAM Award BIOS V6 Updated Pentium 4 at 2.53 DirectX 9 - NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 updated 2 Hard Drives 120 each I am getting a lot of Application and system errors on my system. Some I have traced to Zone Alarm's True Vector problem, now using SyGate which has it's own problems with slow page loading so as to call for site not found. The one error that I am having the most trouble with is the "BugCheck" The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x10000050 (0xe95dca80, 0x00000000, 0xbf86f44a, 0x00000002). TCH-Dick Posted March 23, 2004 Posted March 23, 2004 Have you added any new hardware? It looks like you might have a bad memory module. Try replacing or swapping out each one and see if the provlem stops. Quote
DarqFlare Posted March 23, 2004 Posted March 23, 2004 Yes. I had those same symptoms and switched to a better brand of memory and all my problems were solved. Quote
TCH-Don Posted March 23, 2004 Posted March 23, 2004 David, sometimes the pins on a strip can oxidize, if the memory is old enough, and may just need to be cleaned or reseated a few times. Quote
teyong Posted March 23, 2004 Author Posted March 23, 2004 Well now, look at this? Not one error since I wrote the post - you guys work wonders. Is't this like taking your car in and the problem goes away while in shop? Ok, the only thing I did different was to update NVIDIA driver; While I did add 1gig in Ram, I had simular problems before, can still check them, I am cleaning the case out Wednesday. David Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted March 23, 2004 Posted March 23, 2004 Video drivers can cause all sorts of errors. But checking the memory may still be a good idea. Quote
ThumpAZ Posted March 24, 2004 Posted March 24, 2004 Sorry for being so late in any reply, but it seems the others stepped in to help out. Good to hear that you are having better response from your system. If my old error codes for Windows NT stand in XP, then most of the errors you were seeing are most likely related to memory problems. However, a more severe hardware problem can be involved. (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=183169) This can also be due to the Third Party Software (Zone Alarm or SysGate) causing issues. Make sure that your motherboard can handle 1Gig of RAM, as many new ones still can't. One fast way is to check your My Computer>Properties and see if it says the right amount. Also, taking a pencil eraser to the connector can help in getting rid of contaminants on the pins. Quote
teyong Posted March 24, 2004 Author Posted March 24, 2004 Guess What? The-e-i-i-r Back. After two days of nothing it's back. Added WordPerfect(office2002). I don't think it is that; I believe as you it's my firewall/s. Found the problem with zone alarm and got rid of it. Clean Un-install??? True Vector is gone. I don't want to but I can quite Sygate for a day and see. I will hopefully be in the case Wednesday to clean the bunnies out. My Computer/properties shows 1.5 gig for memory. 1 gig is new. DIMM/SDRAM for all three slots. They all show 512 meg. Using Fresh Diagnose and AID32. Thank You, David Quote
