I generate trace files via PHP, and was able to make the "log" directory universally writable under cpanel. Under cpanelX, I don't see a way to change directory permissions. I don't leave home without trace capabilities, so please let me know what I'm missing here...

Thanx,

Do you mean like if you click on "File Manager" (somewhere near the bottom in Cpanel), then click on a folder (the name not the icon) and then click on "Change permissions"?

um... i think you can do it that way. I've never tried that

or are you talking apples and i'm talking oranges?

Yes, you can do it that way. Just be sure to actually check off the appropriate boxes rather than just changing the number.

...also wondering the apples and oranges...

Major dohhhh to me... I stared and stared at the screen and just didn't see the option list up in the right hand corner. Sorry to bother everybody, and thanks for the civility of your replies.

Arghhhh....

For some reason, that doesn't work for me some times. I would recommend changing them through a FTP program.
