chuckmalani Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 I have a Simple Reseller account, and I am trying to add more domains to my server space. I am using the "Manage Addon Domains" tool in CPanel, but I get the following error: Addon Domain Addition could not be modified because it does not resolve to a valid ip address. Please ask the system admin to check their resolv.conf and their dns trust relationship Ignore any messages of success this can only result in failure! Sorry, you are not allowed to add any more then (0) parked domains! could not be modified because it does not resolve to a valid ip address. Please ask the system admin to check their resolv.conf and their dns trust relationship Ignore any messages of success this can only result in failure! I assume that means that my account has not been activated for multiple domains? I opened a help desk ticket for it, but I want to make sure I'm not using the wrong tool. Thanks! Chuck Quote
Lianna Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 No, you do not use cpanel to add domains into your reseller account. Use WHM (WebHost Manager) following the instructions in your welcome email. Cpanel is for use in managing a single domain Once in WHM (usually accessed by https://youdomain.com:2087) then add a package to define the default parameters for your clients, add more than one if you like... Then add account to input all the info for a particular client. Please read the WHM documentation which can be found here. Also if this resolves your issue, please close your helpdesk ticket regarding the same subject. Thanks. Lianna Quote
chuckmalani Posted February 17, 2003 Author Posted February 17, 2003 Lianna, Once again, YOU ROCK!!! Gotta run now, but I will be back on here later! chuck Quote
chuckmalani Posted February 17, 2003 Author Posted February 17, 2003 ok... im back... through the WHM, I'm following the directions on the "Create A New Account" Doc page. After I fill out the info, I get the following: You do not have access to create that package (undefined)! The thing is, im not trying to create a "package", just a different account (domain = account, right?) Is creating a Package inherant when I create a new account? Now should I fill out a help desk case? Thanks chuck Quote
KevinW Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 Yes, create a package first, even a basic one with 50mb of disk, email users, etc. And give it a name. Then when you want to create a new web site for one of your customers, you start by selecting a package. check out the WHM online documentation at: http://www.cpanel.net/docs/whm/ -kw Quote
Junior Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 Have you set up your own hosting packages? If you will submit a Support Desk ticket, and list your domain name, login and pasword, I will take a look at it for you. Quote
chuckmalani Posted February 18, 2003 Author Posted February 18, 2003 Thanks everyone, I didn't realize that each domain name had its own account (duh - "Create a New Account"!). Not used to that.... Thanks! Chuck Quote
KevinW Posted February 18, 2003 Posted February 18, 2003 Don't beat yourself up too much ... all those who are resellers had to learn the same as you. I'm in the process of building some new support pages for TCH, and we'll try to address some of these "newbie" reseller issues! Don't be afraid to ask any questions! BTW ... Go 'Noles! -kw Quote
