Serena-chan Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 Grrr! I can't figure out why my graphics won't show up. I mean like if I load them each seperately and then go back to the page they show up, but if I just go to the page they are all broken images. What the heeck is going on that it would do that? Mad!!! ~Serena-chan Quote
GroovyFish Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 Serena-Chan, What is the URL? If it is www.bitofhappiness. com site, then I don't have a problem seeing images. FYI, you may want to take a look at your site in Mozilla, the layout is kind of screwed up, but looks fine in IE. I can post a screen print if you would like. Quote
natimage Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 Serena-chan, There has been discussion of this before, and I recently have had the same issue on my site viewing with IE. When you type your URL into the address bar, put a "/" at the end and see if your images come up. I can't explain what the difference is...but I have to do it with one of my sites currently, or the images don't show up. Hope this helps! Quote
GroovyFish Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 hmm...that is strange! I tried her site in IE with the / and without and the images don't show up without the /. I don't use IE normally, so I tried a couple of my sites in IE and it doesn't seem to matter if the / is at the end. Tracy, did anyone discover why it does that? I don't recall that thread. I tried your two sites listed in your sig, and it only happened to one (the photography site)..I wonder if it matters if the URL is typed in, or pasted in... Quote
natimage Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 I'm not sure about a final answer on why. The thread was a long time ago. I'll do some research... Quote
natimage Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 I don't think I found exactly what I'm looking for, but I'm wondering if it doesn't have something to do with hotlinking. Serena-chan...do you have hot-linking enabled on your site? I'll play with my settings and see if it has any effect. Quote
natimage Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 I don't think it has anything to do with hotlinking. I'm wondering if there is a particular browser setting that effects it. Here at work, when I view the page in IE 6, if I leave the / off the end of the URL, the browser puts it in automatically. At home it didn't do that...maybe someone more familiar with IE browser settings will have an answer. Quote
