goodgulf Posted February 3, 2004 Posted February 3, 2004 Thinking about signing up obviously. Everything looks very well organized and documented - quite impressive. But I still have questions about two issue - sever load and security among users sharing a server. I saw where you stopped accepting new accounts for a while and I've seen numerous refferences to the typical hardware. But I haven't found anything indicating how many sites of which sizes you sell per server before you consider it to be full or how my site would be protected from others on the same server. Thanks in advance. Quote
TCH-Dick Posted February 3, 2004 Posted February 3, 2004 Hi, WE dont give out actual actual counts of the number of sites we put on a server, but I assure you it is about half of what most hosting companies put on a server. The reason for the 24 hour halt on accepting new clients was not due to overcrowding or running out of room, we've had two brand new EMPTY servers set up and ready to go for about 3 weeks, we just needed to slow sales down and get the new servers online. Average server load over the past 24 hours was 89.707 % Idle As far as security, the severs themselves are as secure as possible, we implement all security patches and updates as soon as they are available. You site on the otherhand, is only as secure as you make it. If you run any scripts that are insecure, or can be exploited theres always a chance something could happen. The saying is "the only 100% secure server is one that is unplugged from the wall and the internet, incased in concret and buried in a hole" (or something along those lines) Hope that answers your questions, and thanks for concidering us!
