pbrennan10 Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 It's been over 72 hrs and i still don't have domain. Normal? Quote
TCH-Rick Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 With some ISPs, yes it is normal. If you will provide the domain name we can check and see if others can see it or if there is a problem. Quote
TCH-Rick Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 Running a whois search I find: WHOIS info Looking up tigbit.com... No match for "TIGBIT.COM". None of our hosting plans include domain registration. This must be done separately. You can register anywhere but to register with us go to our Domain Registration Page. Quote
stevevan Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 pbrennan10: Don't feel too bad. My site has been down for nearly 2 weeks now due to DNS issues that I've tried to resolve. Use TCH's domain registration. I have nothing but praise for the service here. They will answer any questions and assist you as long as you ask for it without making you feel like a newbie. Stick with it. You'll be very happy in the long run. Quote
pbrennan10 Posted January 28, 2004 Author Posted January 28, 2004 i just registered domain like 5 mins ago, will it still take 24/72 hrs until i can view it? the status of it is "active public" in admin thingier Quote
TCH-Don Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 Yes, it will take time. The problem is that all the internet provider around the world have to update their name servers. Generally this is done once a day. But some times a brand new domain may show up faster, depending on the ISP. Quote
TCH-Rick Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 The 24 to 72 hours is the time it takes for the domain to propagate to servers around the country so that the domain can be resolved to the proper IP address. Quote
