TIA

I dont use CSB, but the info should be the same as what I use for ws_ftp

Site name can be whatever you like

Web site address www.santolina.net

FTP host address santolina.net

host port 21

ftp directory public_html

ftp username your cpanel username

ftp password your cpanel password

default file name index.html

Although I've bever used that program I think I can help.

FTP Site name: A description of this FTP connection

Web Site name: www.yourdomain.net

FTP host address: ftp.yourdomain.net

FTP Directory: public_html (normally)

FTP User name: Your account name (same as cPanel unless you add another FTP user)

FTP Password: Your account password (same as cPanel unless you add another FTP user)

Confirm password: same as FTP password

That should get you going.

I see TCH-Mike is faster at typing than I am! :)

Hi again....I am not having any luck as yet, publishing my site. I still have a bunch of questions but the main one is: to what address should I be using at Domain Direct to repoint Domain Forwarding?

TIA

You should change the DNS to point to ns1.totalchoicehosting.com and ns2.totalchoicehosting.com, once you do that it will take 24-72 hours for DNS to propagate throughout the internet.

Until propagation is complate you wont be able to publish your site VIA domain name, so for FTP host address you would need to use serverXX.totalchoicehosting.com the XX's being the number of the server you are on.

Thanks Mike, but it seems the Domain Forwarding panel over at DomainDirect only allows space for one address. Here's an attachment with a pic of that panel.

Should I maybe enter ns1.totalchoicehosting.com and ns2.totalchoicehosting.com in the sub domain section? Now totally confused

I haven't used DomainDirect before, but looking at their site, to change the nameservers you want to find the option "Advanced Domain Settings" and look for a "Manage Nameservers" or "DNS Management" option. In there it should allow you to change your name servers to TCH's.

As for domain forwarding, it looks like that one option you have in the screenshot is for www.santolina.net. If you wanted for forward other addresses, like FTP, you can do that in your subdomain list.

Edit: Btw, I should mention that if you change the nameservers, then when the actual change takes effect (could take up to a couple days) you won't need to worry about domain forwarding anymore.

Hiya Big Gorilla! Thanks for your input. I'll wander back over to Domain Direct and try your suggestions. Publishing seems more difficult now then in the last four years-that, or I just fell OFF the learning curve. Using the non-domain name addresses -I finally got a little piece of my site to publish without giving me an error message,-but when it opened, nothing was there!

Think I better take a break!
