Which version of Trellix Web are you using? If it came pre-loaded on your pc or bundled with a scanner, etc. then no. Those *free* versions of Trellix Web are hard coded to only publish to specific free hosts.

If you are using Trellix Web 2.7 Publish Anywhere version which you would have either purchased as an upgrade for TW or came with a Prentice Hall published book, then yes. You can configure those versions of Trellix Web to publish here at TCH.

If you haven't heard, Trellix Corporation sold the Trellix Web product to Globalscape in June 2001. Since then, Globalscape has released a followup version which it renamed: CuteSITE Builder 3.0. This is the Publish Anywhere version of Trellix Web and allows you to continue using the .tlx site files that you have already created.

For more information, you can visit KW's site (http://kwsupport.com/csb) or Globalscape (http://www.globalscape.com/cutesitebuilder).

Trellix Web is a great, simple program for building a web site. But the free versions were restricted to only publishing to certain web providers. Chances are, that's what you have. If so, you will want to upgrade to CuteSITE Builder (which is Trellix Web renamed).

check out the discussion board at www.cuteditebuilder.com/cutesitebuilder or my web site at http://www.kwsupport.com/csb for more help!

:P Hey Guys I truly tank you for the info and from what you all have told me IT WONT WORK! It did come as a package with my p/c I had discovered trellix was purchased by cutesite so lets go see what this will cost. What about dreamweaver ? THANKS AGAIN.

Ouch! Now there's a monetary consideration!

Compare:

CuteSITE Builder (which IS Trellix Web, cleaned up a bit and can publish anywhere) will cost you $69.95US.

Dreamweaver (which is much more in depth and the learning curve will be intense) will cost you $399.00US

Um.

:P

derick - yes, you are correct that Trellix Web was taken over by Globaslcape and renamed CuteSITE Builder (CSB). That's what we were trying to point out to you.

As far as Trellix/CSB vs Dreamweaver - the question is: what is your goal?

If it's to get a web site up fast - then CSB

If it's to learn HTML coding from the ground up - then anything but CSB

If it's to develop skills for job situation - then everything including CSB

If you don't know - then CSB

BTW, look at a couple of my web sites, all of which were built using Trellix Web/CuteSITE Builder:

:) Thanks KW downloaded a 30 day trail of dreamweaver and cutesite last evening and looking at both I have already decided that I had better stay with cutesite. Dreamweaver way over my head technically and price. You guys are realy great this endeavor is a little more than had anticipated and will need a little more time to put this together. I looked at a couple of your sites realy look GREAT! Thanks

Gratned ... you can always "move up" to another web development software, but if you are just getting your feet wet with it all, the old motto: "you gotta crawl before you walk, and you gotta walk before you run" is still one to follow!

KW, Its great to see that your good humor follows you from board to board. Like the saying*The more things change the more they stay the same*. One thing I have never found is good help from any host I have had in the past, I think that will change here. You,Lianna and Turtle I know give fast, polite and detailed information. After reading post listed in this forum it seems everyone answers questions the same way. I look forward to getting to know them all. Even with my limited knowledge I may be able to help someone.
