TCH-Thomas Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 http://www.llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyr...iogogogoch.com/ Supposed to be the longest one word url. I know great links should be in a nother section of the forum but i thought it was fun. -Thomas Quote
TCH-Rob Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 Without the dots it should look like llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwyll-llantysiliogogogoch.com. This domain name is 59 characters long. it is the longest singleword domain name. The longest domain name is thelongestdomainnameintheworldandthensomeandthensomemoreandmore.com at 63 characters. ICANN has made this the limit, 67 if you add the .ext. Good thing too, I would hate to have to type Krungthepmahanakornamornratanakosinmahintarayutthayamahadilokphop nopparatrajathaniburiromudomrajaniwesmahasatharn amornphimarnavatarnsathitsakkattiyavisanukamprasit.com Quote

Boojum Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 Hey, you think "Krungthepmahanakornamornratanakosinmahintarayutthayamahadilokphopnopparatrajatha iburiromudomrajaniwesmahasatharnamornphimarnavatarnsathitsakkattiyavisanukamprasit" is bad? At least it has vowels. Try pronouncing "cvxtlthqwnqplwzcbgwpkmhgmfgrdcsxqt.org" (which may actually exist in central/eastern Europe). (Hint: If you can't pronounce the above, try tuning a radio into that area to the right of all receivable stations; it will pronounce it perfectly. And if it doesn't, who'll ever know?) Quote
Boojum Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 Hmm. I can't seem to get rid of the """ in the foregoing post. My apologies for any confusion. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted January 13, 2004 Author Posted January 13, 2004 it will pronounce it perfectly lol. But that is a language we all understand anyway. -Thomas Quote
