Problem Running mt-load.cgi

my dns is not prop'd yet, so i'm not sure if this could be the problem, but anyhow, here's the situation.

 

I uploaded MT full w/ lib. Changed the cfg file, did the mysql database and user stuff, changed password cgi file. mt-check.cgi went ok. but on mt-load.cgi, rec'd following:

 

Connection error: Access denied for user: "****@localhost' (Using password: YES)

 

Do I need to open a db directory? I've tried the user as just mtadmin, but that didn't work either.

thank you charles. i saw my mistake. I had done those steps, but i had used a different user name in the cfg file than the username i made. duh.
