kilau Posted December 24, 2003 Posted December 24, 2003 Hi, I notice that you don't allow multiple domain hosting for regular shared hosting accounts, so I would like to know if masking or forwarding a domain to a sub-domain would be in violation of any terms? Also, I noticed on your forum that several members said you allow us to host our friends/family members provided we don't make money off hosting them, but your aup says: You may not conduct hostee or offer free web hosting to people based on your subdomains. Which is accurate? Thanks. Quote
TCH-Rob Posted December 24, 2003 Posted December 24, 2003 You may not mask or forward a domain name to a sub-domain of an existing account. So you can not forward xyz.com to sub.abc.com if abc.com is hosted here. If you want to have bill.abc.com and steve.abc.com etc on your site and you are not making financial gain then if I remember correctly you are free to do so. Quote
TCH-Don Posted December 25, 2003 Posted December 25, 2003 See Policy Changes! for the relaxed AUP. Where you will see "Your subdomains are allowed to be used for any legal purpose. You may not sell the subdomain space to others, nor may you point other domain names to your subfolders. Sub-domains may not be used to host other domains" Quote
kilau Posted December 25, 2003 Author Posted December 25, 2003 Merry Christmas! Thanks for your reply. Just to reiterate, does that mean that if I choose to sign up for a shared webhosting account with your service, I can't let my buddy mask/forward his domain (which he owns) to one of my subdirectories? Thanks again. Quote
TCH-Rick Posted December 25, 2003 Posted December 25, 2003 Yes, that would be against our AUP. Your buddy should purchase his own account for his domain. Quote
