Is there a way to do a recursive chmod through cpanel or ftp?

i tried "chmod 644 dir -R" but it doesn't work in ftp....

Doing them one at a time isn't any fun (cpanel)

I can do them one directory at a time (wftp) if i have to..

Thanks,

NaFortin

I'm having the same problem. I need to do recursive chmods and when I run MyShell, I show up as user nobody instead of my ftp user, so chmod doesn't work. Anyone know how to change users to the ftp user from within a php script like MyShell -- or do you know of another solution besides actual shell acccess?

Thanks for the link though imajine. It was a good suggestion.

Just to let you guys know, MyShell is considered an illegal script to run here. Reason being, it gives you basically an SSH shell through PHP.

Illegal?? But it has been suggested so many times since I first mentioned it here on the forums, why hasn't anyone said this before? :)

Besides, it's far from a complete shell as it only provides you very basic shell commands, you can't really do anything complex with it.
