Guest Guest Posted January 29, 2003 Posted January 29, 2003 Hello, I'm thinking of switching. I'm wondering if I want you to host my domain or not. If I don't have you host it then perhaps the url that you give me will contain the domain of the SSL certificate and thus I can avoid the "this certificate doesn't match the domain name..." stuff. Am I right on this? If I transfer my domain and try to run shared SSL than the nag screen will always come up or not?? Please let me know. Thanks, Very Interested Quote
Head Guru Posted January 29, 2003 Posted January 29, 2003 Yes, the only way to avoid it is to buy your own SSL Cert. Quote
Guest Guest Posted January 29, 2003 Posted January 29, 2003 Interesting. How is it possible that for 2 years on hypermart I never got a nag screen when using SSL on precords.hypermart.net. Now they've added popups to their secure server so need another solution. If my domain were to be something like precords.totalchoicehosting.com or whatever, why doesn't the same thing hold? Maybe your shared certificates are not the certificates that include subdomains?? Trying to figure this out, that's all. If none of this works, can I install a certificate from freessl.com?? Thanks, Very Interested Quote
Head Guru Posted January 29, 2003 Posted January 29, 2003 Maybe I am misunderstanding what your talking about. I have re-read your thread and now understand your question. There are no pop-ups or nag screens when using our shared SSL. Sorry I should have read the thread closer. Bill Quote
Guest Guest Posted January 29, 2003 Posted January 29, 2003 Bill, Thanks so much for you prompt responses. If anyone has a secure page here, I'd like to test out the shared ssl. I'm still not exactly sure you understand the problem. The popups are a DIFFERENT matter from the nag screen where the identity of the site does not match the domain. This is still not a problem at hypermart. I do not get this nag screen even though they have added advertising popups. Sorry if I did not make myself clear. Hopefully you now understand. If there is a hosted site using shared ssl for me to check quickly that will answer my questions. Thanks, Hoping to sign up Quote
