dieguy Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 Some people when they come on to my board, can not sign in automatically. They sign in tick off sign me in automaically and the next time they still have to sign in. On there PC it is set to allow cookies since they dont have a problem on other forums. I there something in there profile or in the board setting that can help with this. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 I have a similar problem in coppermine photo album so I´ll be watching this one close. :Nerd: -Thomas Quote
Lianna Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 Likely, those visitors do not have cookies enabled on their browsers. They can adjust their browser security settings to enable cookies from your site specifically or just lower their security setting to allow third party cookies. Quote
dieguy Posted December 9, 2003 Author Posted December 9, 2003 They say they have the cookies set but that does not help them. Quote
borfast Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 dieguy, ask them how are they accessing your website. Are they using 'www.******' or just '******'? I remember having a similar problem some time ago with phpBB and the problem had somthing to do with the cookie domain. Quote
TCH-Don Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 Have you tried admin>board settings>cookies set a Cookie Domain Hint: use .your-domain.com for global cookies Quote
Shiva Posted December 11, 2003 Posted December 11, 2003 They sign in tick off sign me in automaically and the next time they still have to sign in. I had the same problem when I set up IPB a few months ago and fixed it using the same trick TCH-Don suggests. Quote
dieguy Posted December 11, 2003 Author Posted December 11, 2003 I did that and it still did not help. Quote
Shiva Posted December 11, 2003 Posted December 11, 2003 I did that and it still did not help. Are they running any popup interferance (some will deal with cookies in an unfiendly manner) or a firewall that will catch them? Have they/you in the testing donea complete refresh, deleting cache? Are these people that complain and have their cookies On, all using XP by chance? Quote
