roadmap Posted November 23, 2003 Posted November 23, 2003 Can someone please explain how to make the "simple guestbook" work? I have created a html page that matches my site for the actual guestbook page to sign. Now what do I do? How do I get it to work after I add the code to display the form? Do I need the template since I have the html page I made or is the template for the output page? How do I add it to my cgi-bin? What do I add to my cgi-bin, the html page? As you can see I am completely lost and I've tried everything I know. If anyone could answer these questions or just explain the steps involved in adding a simple gusetbook it would be great. The cpanel documentation was'nt really helpful to me. Quote
Lianna Posted November 24, 2003 Posted November 24, 2003 roadmap, Making much more out of this than there is, that's why it's called the Simple Guestbook. From cPanel, click on Simple Guestbook and copy that code and paste it into a page of your site. That's it. Really. Then to view the contents of the book, either: A. Go to cPanel and click Simple Guestbook and then View Guestbook OR B . Copy that View Guestbook link and place it on a page of your site as well. Then you can view it from within your site, and so could anyone else. To Manage the Simple Guestbook, again those same two options above except you would click on Manage Guestbook link. **Note: If you attempt to view a Simple Guestbook that has no entries, you will simply see an empty browser page. Same with attempting to manage it. So, make an entry into the Simple Guestbook first, then see what the view and manage pages look like and what they offer. Hope that helps. Quote
