hi people,

i need some help with getting a frame to work and i seem to be missing something here. i added a side frame on my web page and in that frame i have links to different pages on the site. when i open it locally it works fine but i cant get it to work on the web. iv checked and double checked over and over again that the files in the local site are the same as in the remote site. im using dw 4.0.

any ideas?

thanks

Dom

By the way Dom, if you are talking about the wood working site. I do not see a frames page, just the regular index page. Did you upload the main index and the nav page? If so then you may just need to change your current index page to main or whatever you called that page.

ok i think i understand what i did wrong here, i took my main index page which i call home.htm and added or i thought added the side frame and worked from there. then when dream weaver asked to to save the frame set i did and renaimed the frame set home2.htm and made that my main page. i think i see now that i should have made a new page with the frames and directed DW to insert the frame set and the index page in there proper locations or something like that.

thats what im going to try now please correct me if im wrong.

thanks again for all your help so far

Dom

Dom, glad you got it working!

Some of your pics are very large, 1.5 to 2.5 megs

Have you seen the free program called Ifranview

from www.irfanview.com

It can help to resize and save as a jpg with compression.

Your images can be reduced in file size with little loss.
