gary8744 Posted November 8, 2003 Posted November 8, 2003 Hi All!! I am hoping that some of you computer and web Gurus can help me out. I need to find an online calendar that I can access from a PC and also from a WAP enabled phone. I need to be able to add and edit events from the phone. I am trying to find a service that won't break the bank. Does anyone know of any such animal? I did a Google search and found several that gave the ability to look at the calendar, but the couple I found that would let me edit, were designed and priced for a med to large business. I appreciate any help that anyone could give. Hey maybe Head Guru could add this as a feature in TCH!! Thanks!! Gary Rock Sign Quote

Lianna Posted November 10, 2003 Posted November 10, 2003 I think I'll put this one on my search list for tonight. Sounds like a worthy application. I am assuming that you'd want to edit and view the calendar from either the phone or the pc browser right? Let me do some hunting! Maybe there would be such an animal that can be installed to your own website? (ie, instead of looking for the service, look for the application.) I'll post back with any findings. Lianna Quote
RJSkon Posted November 10, 2003 Posted November 10, 2003 Gary Here is a Freebie Calendar that I was playing around with for a fishing club six months ago, http://www.calsnet.net/bassfishing It's interactive from the browser by the Administer or anyone that has the password, I don't know if it has the functions that you want. You can get more info at, http://www.calendars.net/ Richard Quote
Lianna Posted November 10, 2003 Posted November 10, 2003 (edited) Gary, Two quick finds. First, my mobile provider has a nifty little site that includes an online calendar which is also WAP accessible (and editable). I use Cingular and access MyWirelessWindow at: http://www.cingular.com/beyond_voice/beyondmww That site is powered by InfoSpace. I was able to login from my phone and edit the calendar entries and add new ones, etc. Maybe your provider has something similar. Find #2: Webcalng http://www.webcalng.com/ Free trial version allows you to create up to 2 calendars on your own webspace. WAP enabled (autodetect) but the verbage is unclear of how much control you have from the phone. I have it downloaded and will install in a bit to test it. If it works well and I can use my phone to edit/add events, then I'll post back here with any specifics on installation. If you need more than 2 calendars, then the server license version (unlimited cals) is only $59US. Hmmm. Edited November 10, 2003 by TCH-Lianna Quote

Lianna Posted November 13, 2003 Posted November 13, 2003 Find #2: Webcalnghttp://www.webcalng.com/ No luck getting webcalng installed. I know that I'm probably missing something pretty basic...like command line interface I followed the directions for FTP only access install and still no go. Sorry. Have you looked to see if you provider has an online calendar yet? Quote
gary8744 Posted November 14, 2003 Author Posted November 14, 2003 I did find out that my cell company (Nextel) has a pretty good data package. Through their service, I can access my work Outlook data. I can add and delete appointments, but not edit them. It seems to work pretty well. For anyone else looking, www.anytimenow.com also has a pretty good online calendar which can be accessed with WAP. There are many other features that go along with it. They are very reasonabley priced too. Thanks for all the help!! Gary Quote
