I've been sitting here for 2 days hitting my head on my desk as I wade through pages and pages of instructions for what I am seeking to accomplish and although I've gotten closer, it's still "no cigar" on the end result. :D

I am trying to use a script from Matt's script archive for a form mail with some added functions for an autorespond of acknowledgment and a "bcc" copy to myself at another address. When the person fills out the form, it should open onto another page which is a printable view of what they just filled out for their records, plus, they are supposed to get an email from us saying thank you.

I vaguely remember a message I got a while back saying something about email scripts not being available any longer but my mind is out there somewhere in cyberspace and I seem to have forgotten the details of it, so am not really sure if that would even apply. :(

Anyway, whenever I use the redirect command, it does that just fine, but when I try to replace that with this other code "return_link_url", nothing happens except that I go to the error 500 page. I'm thinking it has to do with my cgi bin, but because I'm not a heavy hitting programmer, I'm not sure exactly what I need to do.

If anyone out there is familiar with this code called BForMail and you have time, could you help me out?

Thanks in advance!

If you are just starting on a FormMail script, you may want to try the "Ultimate Form Mail" script.

I'm just started to use "Ultimate Form Mail" and it probably will wind up being better than Matts Script and the NMS Script and I use both of those. I have a test FormMail site where I play around with FormMail, it's at http://rjskon.com/forms

Ultimate Form Mail can be downloaded at, http://www.surefirewebdesign.com/scripts

I see there is now a new release, version, 1.5

It can do all the functions that you are looking for, I haven't gotten into those yet, but I sure will.

Thanks Richard for the time to send me the links to this script...I will give it a look and see if it's a little easier for my poor tired brain to figure out *smile*.

Have a great one!

Feather, definately go with the Ultimate Form Mail script.

I also have a feeling that Matt's may not be allowed here (I could be wrong) as it has a bunch of serious security issues.

Well, guess what? I finally found where all the info is located on my problem...under the General Support - Security Discussions section. Wow! Five pages of discussion that had all the answers I was looking for, so thanks to all who had input there! Just goes to show that hundreds of brains linked together is sometimes better than just one Thumbs Up

Now I have to really get to work :)
