  1. I wasn't sure if this is where I need to ask this question or not, but it didn't really seem to fit in anywhere. Anyway, here's the result I am looking for: whenever a person fills out a form on the site, I have it set up with required tags for record keeping on my end, ie name, address, etc.. Is there any way to change the way the email that comes to me looks other than the default? I looked at the htaccess info thinking that might be something to do with it but am not familiar with it enough to know exactly what it is capable of or even if it is what I need to be concerned with. I also am wanting to learn how to make the completed form page be emailed to me and then move to a webpage with the completed information on it for them to print out but don't know how to do that either. I have tried various methods and it's like I'm missing one little thing to prevent it from working right. Anyway, the page is located here: ATCM to see the code used. Any and all help is most definitely appreciated! Feather

  4. When I got my first computer back in 1996, the only thing I did know was how to type on the keyboard. I was afraid to get on the internet because I thought whenever I was there it was like a very, very large room where everyone would know if I made a mistake and then I would look as stupid as I felt. Being the curious person I am though, I did get on the internet and soon became addicted to my computer and the rest of the world which was so easily accessible with this "new" form of technology. Art is my hobby and as I surfed and saw all the wonderful websites, I knew I had to learn how to put my own art out there too. So, I began to teach myself how to build a website. I started with the freebies and as my confidence grew, I then decided I wanted my own domain. Still new to this form of communication, I didn't research hosting providers and ended up with a service and for the basic no frills I paid $26.95 per month with a one time $50.00 set up fee. As I learned more and more I realized there were other services out there who provided more for less. Now, to make this story a little shorter than it is, I did a search about a year or so ago and found this place called Simple Net and when I did a side by side comparison of what they offered, they by far outdid any other I found. With excitement, I signed up with them and have been here since. When the name got changed to Total Choice Hosting, I was pleased because that name really encompasses what I am paying for. What I get is total, complete, and very satisfactory, enough so that I not only host my own site here, but my boyfriend and I purchased 2 more domains and host them here as well. Anytime I have had a problem with anything, TCH is very quick to respond and that means a lot to me. I feel like someone really does care about me as a customer. I can get live help, phone help, or email help and it doesn't matter which method I use, the results are always the same. To quote a line from Forrest Gump (with my own words added) "I may not be a smart person Jenny, but I do know what a good web hosting service provider is." Keep up the good work TCH! 5. Good morning everyone! I'm not a technical wizard or anything, but I have discovered that using the [alt=""] within the graphic code does indeed get picked up by the search engines. Example: . Anything written in the alt= part not only gets spidered, but it is also nice for the visually impaired people out there who cannot see your graphic but instead listen to what the computer tells them they are looking at. So, if you were to put in the alt tag something like [Total Choice Hosting - the place where Choice Does Matter], the search engines would pick up on it as well as the impaired person hearing the message. 6. Hi Jennifer and welcome to the family! I understand what you are saying about people stealing your images and stuff as I had a similar problem with someone taking my graphics and like you, I don't take too kindly to people who do that after I put in hours of hard work. So, I went out to search for a simple solution and found a page. Unfortunately, I only saved the text and the code and forgot to save where I found it. I have learned that if people want our art, they will find a way to get it, one way or another and short of taking someone to court over it, there's not a lot we can do. For those people who are not real computer saavy though, there are little tricks and this is one of them. Anyway, here's the text I saved and maybe this will help some. Let me know if this works for you, o.k.? Feather
  7. Well, guess what? I finally found where all the info is located on my problem...under the General Support - Security Discussions section. Wow! Five pages of discussion that had all the answers I was looking for, so thanks to all who had input there! Just goes to show that hundreds of brains linked together is sometimes better than just one Thumbs Up Now I have to really get to work Feather
  8. Ty, Ty...get it? Sitting here laughing at my stupid joke...sigh...oh well. Thanks for the input Ty. Feather
  9. Thanks Richard for the time to send me the links to this script...I will give it a look and see if it's a little easier for my poor tired brain to figure out *smile*. Have a great one! Feather
  10. OH nooooo!!! Not the dreaded red X's!!! Well, just something else to keep my feathers a fluttering Thanks for the look see anyway Thomas and have a great day! Feather
  11. I've been sitting here for 2 days hitting my head on my desk as I wade through pages and pages of instructions for what I am seeking to accomplish and although I've gotten closer, it's still "no cigar" on the end result. I am trying to use a script from Matt's script archive for a form mail with some added functions for an autorespond of acknowledgment and a "bcc" copy to myself at another address. When the person fills out the form, it should open onto another page which is a printable view of what they just filled out for their records, plus, they are supposed to get an email from us saying thank you. I vaguely remember a message I got a while back saying something about email scripts not being available any longer but my mind is out there somewhere in cyberspace and I seem to have forgotten the details of it, so am not really sure if that would even apply. Anyway, whenever I use the redirect command, it does that just fine, but when I try to replace that with this other code "return_link_url", nothing happens except that I go to the error 500 page. I'm thinking it has to do with my cgi bin, but because I'm not a heavy hitting programmer, I'm not sure exactly what I need to do. If anyone out there is familiar with this code called BForMail and you have time, could you help me out? Thanks in advance! Flustered Feather
  12. Thanks!
  13. Hi everyone, I'm a new member here and I have been setting up my forum. I seem to have figured most everything out with exception to setting my time zone. I look at my watch and know what time it is here and I look at the map and know what time it is in other places, but this GMT (+ or -) thing is driving me wacko! Could someone please tell me in simpler terms how this is done. I've tried various ones and nothing seems to be right. Thanks in advance! Feather
