Issuing Unix Commands

Hi,

 

I was trying to set the permissions of some pictures I'm using on eBay.

 

I tried to issue the chmod command and my FTP program came back and said that was an invalid command.

 

If that is the case, How do I set the permissions?

Could you explain what your exactley trying to do? and why you need to set permissions on a photo?
