vendlus Posted September 26, 2003 Posted September 26, 2003 This is in reference to the script provided in the tutorial section of this forum. (Link) It mentions putting the code into your site, but doesn't specify where. Do you put the code into your index page or does it need it's own page or what?? (I've been programming for a few years, but today I really feel like I'm green ) Thanks, Vendlus Quote
TCH-Don Posted September 26, 2003 Posted September 26, 2003 You can put it anywhere. I put it at the bottom of my home page. Quote
TCH-Sales Posted September 26, 2003 Posted September 26, 2003 I also edited the tutorial a bit, thanks to your suggestion! Quote
Deverill Posted September 27, 2003 Posted September 27, 2003 I have added the advanced one to every page of my sites. This generates a bunch of mail but I'm not near a bandwidth problem and it gives me the extra advantage of seeing which pages Googlebot hits. I find it interesting when he focuses on certain sections of my site and which pages he almost always hits in a 24 hour period. Probably in about a month I'll get bored with it and scale it back, but for now it's fun to see what he's doing. Quote
vendlus Posted September 28, 2003 Author Posted September 28, 2003 Thanks Deverill. I'm looking at doing that for a new site I'm in the process of writing. At least for the first little while, it'd be nice to know exactly what googlebot is up to. Quote
