soundweaver Posted September 22, 2003 Posted September 22, 2003 I'm trying to set up a mailing list that won't allow attachments. Is there any way to do this for the Mailman lists besides limiting size of emails? I see some settings under content filtering but am not sure what to include to filter out ALL attachments. Anybody out there able to help me with this? Quote
Lianna Posted September 23, 2003 Posted September 23, 2003 After reviewing all the documentation I could find, I do not see where that can be handled through mailman. Sorry. Quote
TCH-Dick Posted September 23, 2003 Posted September 23, 2003 on the admin page, go to the Content Filtering section. Change "Should Mailman filter ..." to Yes. If you leave the rest at default values, including Yes for "Should Mailman convert text/html parts to plain text?", your list will only distribute plain text messages with no attachments. Search the Mailman FAQ Quote
Lianna Posted September 23, 2003 Posted September 23, 2003 Wow, thanks! Now why can't the Mailman documentation point that out? I searched at least 6 different docs and found NO mention of the ability to force no attachments. Great creative thinking! Quote
TCH-Dick Posted September 23, 2003 Posted September 23, 2003 It took a little digging around, but I don't mind. Most of this is new to me and I have learned alot hanging out in the fourm. Just trying to return the favor. Rock Sign Quote
