Yes you can have a forum in your subdomain, if you are using the auto install from cPanel it will create a different database for each forum. If you are manually installing you will need to manually create a separate database for each forum.

What do you mean by "auto install"? When I go to cPanel, I click on 'Addon Scripts' to choose InvisionBoard as the forum of choice. From here, I don't know where to proceed. :(

 

How do I actually accomplish creating a forum for my subdomain?

ok, if you have a subdomain called stuff, when you go to install the forum it will ask you what directory you want to install it in you would simply type stuff in the space where it asks for directory. If you do it this way only the forum will be displayed when you go to that subdomain. if you want the forum to be installed in a folder within the subdomain you would have to install it manually.
