LondonPC Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Hi, Newbie question: Yesterday I set up my first website's registration/hosting with a view to setting up a blog, the hosting pack included access to cPanel which I want to use for my new site, but I'm not having much luck in getting WordPress to install from Fantastico. To clarify I am doing the following: cPanel -> Fantastico De Luxe -> WordPress -> install (I select WordPress and enter enter my selected admin passwords and username, email and so forth and then press install). I keep getting the following message at stage 2/3 of the WordPress install process. "Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user 'username'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in/tmp/cpanel_phpengine.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX on line1617 Access denied for user 'username'@'localhost' (using password: YES)" What am I doing wrong!? From both written/youtube guides I understand this should be all I need to do to get the blog site up and running. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance Quote
TCH-Alex Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 I would suggest you to reset your cPanel password once and try again. If the issue still persist, please post a ticket to the help desk, so that we can look into this issue. Quote
LondonPC Posted October 10, 2011 Author Posted October 10, 2011 Hi, I am not receiving the email with the confirmation code. Any idea how long it should take. thanks Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Welcome to the forum, LondonPC. As far as I know, it should be instant. But if you haven´t received it, please open a ticket with the help desk as Alex suggests and they will help fix this. Quote
TCH-Bala Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 You can reset cpanel password from within the cpanel itself rather than going the email verification method since you do have a working login. Also note that if you are resetting the password by supplying the username on the cpanel login window, then the password reset link will be sent to the contact address set on cpanel. Once you have access, make sure that you have set it to a valid working email. Quote
