TCH-JimE Posted August 28, 2003 Posted August 28, 2003 Hi, Ok, there are some nice scripts on the web which create easy to manage link farms but the links are all like "Http://www.mywebsite.com/links/linkpage.htm?cat=id34" Now does this mean that things like Google etc wont index them and hence wont follow them and hence even more Link farms are bad for SEO? surefire Posted August 28, 2003 Posted August 28, 2003 First, it would be very easy to hack the scripts so that it would look more like Http://www.mywebsite.com/links/linkpage/id34.htm Second, I've heard it said in this forums and others that link farms are not good for SEO. Third, I am finding that Google, at the very least, is indexing most of my dynamic urls. Quote
SEO Posted August 31, 2003 Posted August 31, 2003 Ok, there are some nice scripts on the web which create easy to manage link farms but the links are all like "Http://www.mywebsite.com/links/linkpage.htm?cat=id34" No, this 'type' of link will not give credit to the corresponding page (I call these indirect links). This style is used to minimize the affect of outbound links but still 'offering a link back'.... offering a link back that is worthless. As Jack states... any method that artificially enhances link popularity by such a strategy is very dangerous. Avoid any form of link farms... any! If caught... the penalty is removal from the index.
