OpiumTrail Posted January 8, 2003 Posted January 8, 2003 Is there any way to configure my account and/or my FTP client so that I can download hidden files (i.e. those prefixed with a '.') to my local machine? Thanks, Richard. Quote
Lianna Posted January 8, 2003 Posted January 8, 2003 Sure, most FTP clients have a filter that can be applied. What FTP client are you using? CuteFTP uses a filter: " Displaying Hidden Files: You can display hidden files on servers using a special filter command. When configuring your filter, select Enable remote filters (Server applied filter). Type in -rtaF next to this field. Your listing command should now be LIST-rtaF, which will display of hidden files." Lianna Quote
OpiumTrail Posted January 8, 2003 Author Posted January 8, 2003 I'm using TurboFTP and I can't find any setting to override this default behaviour! Quote
OpiumTrail Posted January 8, 2003 Author Posted January 8, 2003 Whoops! I just found it. Thanks, Richard. Quote
Lianna Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 Never heard of TurboFTP. I'll look for it in a bit and check it out. Can you tell us the secret setting in TurboFTP for future reference? Thanx L Quote
OpiumTrail Posted January 9, 2003 Author Posted January 9, 2003 Dear All, "Current site settings... | Connection | Show hidden files" It was embarrassingly obvious once I'd figured it out! Oh yeah... TurboFTP is very cool! It's folder synchronization feature is the best I've found by far for web site maintenance. And it's quite well priced ($29.95). Cheers, Richard. Quote
Lianna Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 Get TurboFTP here. Currently listed for $29.95 USD. Yeah, the Folder Synchronization feature looks really great. Thanks for the tip. Lianna Quote
